There was no gate space. Passengers were not allowed to deplane as we were in remote with no busses or stairs. We were getting the mandatory DOT reports to update.

Then that should still be flight pay and needs to be corrected, both for contractual pay as well as FAR's.

In the end relative to what the industry pays we are better compensated then the flight attendants by a nice margin.

Try telling them they aren't getting it after an hour and see how much they care. Point is, they do get paid (I think it's more like 15, which for many FA's amounts to a fair percentage of their total rate) on an extended delay and we don't. The company has no leg to stand on when they claim we'd have to pay the FAs. And what about ferry flights without the FAs? The whole 'me too' effect is way out of proportion here. I do agree there isn't a thing we can do about it until the next contract. But to say that we'd have to pay everyone else is just a convenient excuse by the company to say 'no'. It's not DALPAs job or place to consider the union organizing implications of our pay on non dues paying work groups whose interests they don't represent.

We can ask for a pay raise anytime we want. Historically we have not been very successful with that.

Since we're starting to do some of the same customer service roles that they do (delay PAs in the plane, delay PAs at the gatehouse, engaging with customers while not flying the airplane, etc) maybe we can get some of the benefits the FAs get to keep them "chipper and ready to serve the customer" like:

A real rest facility
Holiday Pay
Better vacation
Nice lounges to wait between flights
Free "points" for to replace uniform pieces
Van between Kew Gardens/LGA/JFK

We already have to fight that some of our flying is outsourced, now we have to fight the whipsaw that is our FAs too?

Nice lounges? Mother D just fills it with crap anyway. Walk over to the IFS lounge in E. You have to stoop as you walk in because they hang signs at the 6 foot level about uniform compliance and so on. There's even a uniform compliance check station next to the uniform compliance room across from the uniform compliance signs. Free coffee but the pot is always empty and no bags of coffee to be found anywhere.

Looks like icrew is down. With such a technologically advanced system, it's hard to imagine it could be down. :D

Lol, I remember going to ZRH last summer and the purser telling us there was no more beef. Came to find out from the other FA's he had eaten three on the leg over. None of the other FA's wanted anything to do with him on the layover.
