I must be the only one who thinks it is wrong if this is the way its been done in the past. I stand by my argument though, I still believe it is an abrogation of seniority. It is Delta getting the job done cheaper by a AQFO, A small portion of the LCA have been outsourced to a lower bidder.

what would your grievance be? I don't think they count against the staffing, so it's not like a junior sim instructor prevented you or anyone from being awarded that category.
To Much Good Ole Boy for me. |

Under the North system you had to be a seniority based pilot to teach in the sim, you had to be able to hold the aircraft you were teaching on. Pay was 80 hrs per month, with 2 additional periods available, the pay was not what you could hold but rather what you were flying. If the instructor did not live in base a hotel was provided, and you moved up a notch on the pass riding.
Only captains performed checkrides, sim instructors also did OE. I would think that the sim instructing part was the worst part of the job. |

How does the inst that cannot hold the position remain current, and when they fly are they payed at the lower rate that they can hold or at the rate the aircraft is paid at?

It would seem to me that if this super junior guy is at the bottom of the category list, anyone senior to him (not fenced) should be able to MD into the category.

That Employee Survey tops my list of the biggest waste of time items for 2013.
So Delta wants to tell the world that we are diverse, we love our jobs, and we love our leaders. Nothing on that survey will help any leader make this place any better. My 50 words or less input was to let each of us know how much we spent to hire a third party company to conduct a worthless survey for us. |

This is true. Incidentally, they are offering "PTY4" today to any flight attendants who pick up a trip out of ATL. That's 4 hours of overtime pay for any trip that originates out of ATL, SAV turn, whatever. The FA's do get overtime, just not in the same way we do...

BTW, India Pale Lager by Sam Adams, epic fail...
