Maybe if you were going the other direction...

Saying that Delta will hire 8000 pilots, in ten years, does not make sense. Please tell me someone asked him how that would be accomplished. Hire and train 800 pilots a year when they say there not going to hire this year. That means they have to hire and train 888 pilots a year starting in 2014. With this quick math, I am sure that someone asked if we are able to do train that many new hires.

In the past Delta has hired a like amount per year. I have absolutely no knowledge of the future plans but my guess is that it is possible. I'll bet the Company knows pretty much exactly how many new hires per year they can handle.

By far the most high value bars that I've carried have all been going into the US.

Even if D-0 is at risk for a minute or two (as long as its not the "fault" of the non rev, i.e. showing up at D-0 or D+1, etc).

I don't know, with Gate Latency I'm kind of concerned for nonrevs no matter how early they show.

As far as I know that puts the training department at max production for 10 years. So, if we are to have 8000 pilots hired in the next ten years how are we going to train an extra 3200 pilots. It is clear, to me, that they are going to buy a pilot group to get the new pilots. To say we are going to hire 8000 pilots is just not feasible in our training department.

Delta is more then capable of training more then 480 pilots per year.

Agreed. Part of the problem is that we wait until the last minute to clear even when the flight is wide open, not weight restricted, etc. not all agents do it but it seems to be all too frequent. Inevitably they get loaded up with something else and next thing you know people get left behind.

When I worked at COEX nonrevs got left ALL the time in the CAL system. CAL had laser like focus on D-0 and now we are walking down the same path. Efficiency is great but....

Yeah I know its possible, but if they were really planning on that many, the gates would be opening up soon. We'll see I guess.

How do you know we won't hire in 2013? ;)

Yeah 480/year is not out of the question. It's just a lot of E periods :)

Someone sent me the 22.D.3 report for August of 2011 and when you take those hard numbers with the one for March 2014 and compare this is what you come up with:

it is what it is.
