I agree, and think this is what may benefit DAL Pilots the most in the long run regarding the new FTDT rules, although the benefit will be indirect. While the new rules may not dramatically affect DAL, the bottom feeders, with minimal contractually protections above the FARs will take a big hit.

It may take a while for this to play out but I think this may help to minimize any staffing efficiencies that the bottom feeders now enjoy, and force more of the competition between airlines into non labor costs, service, network etc.

Note - Bottom feeders will always have some $$$ advantage vis-a-vis labor in both staffing and compensation, but the new FTDT rules may somewhat limit how big that advantage can be.
