Got a new passport last month. Thursday got a letter from The State Department wanting it back due to a "possible duplicate number". Anyway, since I have a trip later in the week I drove to Tuscon and got a new one there. (yes, I should have made the company buy the trip......but they did that in Nov for the other one, so I was being a company man).

Anyway......anyone ever have that happen? My initial reaction was that it could be a scam to get my passport.

Where?.....

Never had that happen, but I did get a passport with my name spelled wrong on it. I was too lazy to get it fixed as I was in college. I slowly started morphing into the misspelled name as a passport is the highest form of identification. When I renewed it 10 years later, I got it fixed, then I started slowly morphing back to my real name.

I'm not doing well with government documents. My FAA license came back last year with A320 on it (vs A330). Linecheck airman caught it during the linecheck blitz last year.........talk about fireworks!!

If LHR is so important, how come we never flew anything bigger than the 767/767-400 on that route now that we have more lie flats on bigger aircraft?
