net 10, the prepaid cell provider is offering unlimited everything plans with smartphones for a lot less than my at+t plan. How enjoyable would their smartphones be to operate?

Virgin offers pre paid Sprint service. Virgin's service is great, unless you need something. Virgin is a near "virtual" operation and has no customer service people. Hope you like surfing web boards to get your service provisioned

When you back out the cost of the pre-paid phone and the employee discount on Sprint, it was nearly a wash for us. ( two x $650 phones for $50/18 mos=$67 a month savings off a $140 plan = $73 / 2 = $36.50 a month plus taxes for 450 min / unlimited / unlimited) So we remained with Sprint and can enjoy actually being able to trot to a local store and talk to a friendly associate if we have a need to. At the house, with the new LTE I'm seeing download speeds of 25 all the way up to near 40MBPS. Really enjoying our Galaxy III's.

And if you are still on smart phone training wheels; they sell Apple products and even Samsung's got a "grandma mode" which approximates iOS.

I considered trading this on the news, but then decided the market would see through what this is and realize it is a defensive move.

As one gets older, one realizes the biblical references to sheep are right on.

I'm somewhat disappointed in my Samsung Galaxy Note. It's clunky from a user standpoint. When I'm typing with it the keyboard response is slow, and cursor placement for mid paragraph correction is terribly difficult. It's jumpy, & often will not go where I want it to. The iPhone is a far superior product in this regard.

You are having these problems on ICS, or Jelly Bean?

So far, I'm digging me some Jelly Beans. Even rooted my tablets to enjoy the JB goodness.

(Trying to distract myself from posting about Virgin until after the news conferences ... and ALPA's statement(s) .... )

... and now I know why my two year old runs from me.

I need to update the operating system. I haven't put the latest on yet. Maybe that would help?? I've had it since March. I think it is still running on gingerbread.

Don't know. If it's really "metal neutral" our lives probably won't change, which of course opens another discussion.

But, I go back to what I said earlier about this. I think this is a maneuver specifically against American. In this big barroom brawl, I think we are attempting to cut American out and land a few punches while no one is looking....sorta like the JAL thingie a few years ago.

Does it encourage or discourage a USAir/American deal....I have no clue except Anderson is talking up their merger as necessary for industry rationalization.

But, hey.....the market likes it! And those guys are always right:D
