Your next stop should be:

Alpa > ALPA PAC

I give 42 bucks a month or about half a tank of gas a month.

Sorry ACL. After age 65, I can no longer contribute.

Seriously? "keep ALPA or Emirates will take over the world?" that's the best you can do?

And no, I'm not a DPA supporter anymore. But I'd leap at any viable ALPA alternative.

Agreed. ..........

The DPA can come out in opposition to this too. Probably have I'd assume.

What those carriers want right now is for the US pilots to fracture into little groups of independent unions, each trying to protect their own little piece of turf, so that there is no consistent, powerful, single voice to represent US pilots and their jobs in front of Congress. I would not be surprised to see them trying in the future to subsidize the DPA, UPU, and these other splinter groups to try to help destroy the voice of ALPA.

I know that there is a lot of frustration over a really crappy decade of this profession, but if that frustration forces us to splinter apart and become subject to attack on multiple fronts from these carriers then we will have truly not learned a thing from this consolidation. Just at the time that we are advancing our careers back, not fast enough but as fast as we can, it would be insane for us to break apart and let these people come and buy their way into stealing our jobs forever. Once they are gone they are gone forever.

The DPA is now just an organization dedicated to spewing bile about ALPA. They have no agenda. Their lawyer Lee Seham, helps finance and support this bile spewing as it has made him millions of dollars from labor groups and he has delivered almost nothing in return. Look at USAPA, all their dues money went to him and they haven't had a pay raise in 7 years. Their seniority fight is almost over and they are losing so it was all for nothing. I think it is clear that the Delta pilots are not going to be the next set of chumps to fall for this ruse.

Is there some point where the DPA folks will rise up from their bitterness and look around at what the real threats are in this industry? How are we going to counter these well organized, well financed threats if we continue to fracture? United we stand, divided we fall.

I think the ideal solution would to tell the Emirates and Qatars of the world that they need to have to X number of pax on each flt be residents of the UAE. The Japanese did this to NWA in certain markets in the 90's ..

Oh come on sailorjerry... On the internet, there are just two things that indicate IMMEDIATE LOSS in any discussion or argument:
1. first guy to bring up Hitler or accuse other of being a Nazi
2. first guy to tell the other he can just quit if he doesn't like it.

When someone expresses anything negative or dissatisfied with the company, and you respond, "well you can just leave"... Come on, there are 5,000 other guys on here reading this thinking "tool!"
Really, the next step is just shooting folks who "don't like it here", you Nazi!
;)

No disrespect ACL, but ALPA national are the ones who should be supporting the PAC. Perhaps lee moak can take a pay cut and contribute to the cause.

In my opinion, our leaders at ALPA national are no different then the corrupt CEOs who gut contracts under bankruptcy while deploying their golden parachutes.

Is it too much to ask that our government just look out for American employees without needing to have their proverbial wheels consistently greased. (I know stupid question)

I knew I'd get one of these comments. I'm on reserve and the last three trips I've flown either the Capt or the other F/O has spent several hours complaining about the quality of our product versus other airlines. Most of you can figure out which part of quality I'm talking about. I'm a positive guy but I can't help but letting in the negativity when you see their product versus ours ( not just Delta either but other US airlines as well). So there's the problem, but what kind of solution can we offer? We can't...with equality here and litigate that, our product may never catch up to theirs ever again. When I'm with our crew waiting to go through security, where our people look like a rag tag bunch with 1,000 different uniform combinations, I see the competition coming through looking 100% better. I'm not focusing on their age/weight/sex, more the sharpness of their uniforms since they all look the same. You can't help looking at the other crews because they just look better!! I'm just frustrated like everyone else.
