Would you mind giving a brief description of what WW actually does? I was looking at the Flightline website, but there is no description of the product.

Thanks,

dl

No problem. First, I don't use the easybid feature of WW... I use Navtech desktop because it works well and is completely supported by D.

I use 3 main features and one minor feature:

By far the most important is the log on to DBMS... the underlying program that interfaces with everything sked wise... by clicking one button, I can log on in 13sec's and acknowledge a trip, check open time, etc. I can be on & off Delta in 2 or 3 minutes.

Second, you get real time trip alerts. I chose both email & text... I can see the actual trip they're trying to cover. (Denny, I just discovered recently that if you set up the alerts on flica.net (vice WW), you have a lot more options for your filters. Flica.net is the parent web site of WW.

Third, it is text based... no graphics to slow you down & works well when you don't have a great internet signal... very, very quick to update ws's, gs's, etc.

Last, I use the FFDO feature to update my sked to DHS...very easy.

Again, been using WW for many years, and though far from perfect, it has been a great tool to improve my pay/time off.

Hope this helps.

I couldn't get WW to load on a Win 8 machine.

Where did all the good used 747-400 rumors go?

Sorry don't know about 8, using 7 ultimate myself. If it's like when 7 came out, it will take a bit before they update to 8.

Customer service isn't great since Sabre acquired, I agree. The rest of what you wrote is not really accurate.

WW is updated when needed...though it can/does lag a few days for updates... oh well.

No one has ever shown me how to use the product... pretty easy to figure out actually. But then, no one has shown me how to use the contract to maximize pay/time off either... just read it and figured it out myself... something I encourage every one to do... though it is much more difficult to understand than WW.

Obtw, I've already made at least an additional 20k this year using WW & the contract. Is WW perfect? Not even close. But, not bad for a $10/mo tax deductible investment. As long as I get this kind of ROI, I'll put up with Sabre.

If it doesn't work for you that's fine... just thought others might be interested. :)

P.s. Don't think WW will work if one is an i-something guy.

LTD, I am a big fan of any improved info manipulation/visualization above what Delta gives us. I use flightline EasyBid, and have EasySwap too (though for my small category, it isn't too helpful compared to IcrewMobile which I use and check a lot.

I actually want to use WW, and downloaded it for direct DBMS access right after your post, but as I said the thing still has 1 may and 1 jun for the bid periods, and when I try to download the schedule it just hangs there with "download schedule period starting?" 01May13 .... it's obviously causing a script hang. How do you get past this?
Thanks!

Oh, also, in SLC they used all the reserves this weekend on narrowbodies to cover ATL, JFK, and LAX needs, you can see it in the notes for the trips they covered inside daily coverage drilldown. One GS that I saw yesterday, rest were all to cover other bases so they wouldn't have to give out GS.

With the increase in reserve flying and the motivation of pilots flying extra hours for mucho dollars, you can see clearly why "Ma Delta" is in no immediate needs for new pilots.

Over type the correct date and enter. The program will then start back to the auto fill functions. At least it did that for me today when pulling up the "fridge" calendar. Hope this helps..

Bump.

I loved how when the TA was being sold by DALPA they said this concession was only for the international categories.

Yet DALPA served, on a silver platter, the ability for domestic reserves to be flown to ALV+15. (Delta only wanted International relief?).

So now, domestic reserves can be flown to ALV+15.

Why? Because DALPA gave it to the company. And now...the company is doing just that. They will continue to do so.

The DALPA guys will chime in and say "Statistically, it's a small percentage of people who....blah, blah, blah".

Well DALPA....that "small percentage" of people pay you money, each month, to improve THEIR quality of life and pay. And you threw them under the bus, for a Cost of Living pay raise.

I'd like to know where in the Contract Survey did the Reserve folks say "Yes...Please make me able to fly to ALV+15". Did we ask for that in the Contract Survey?

Heck...I'd just be happy to see the Contract Survey.

We'll never see the contract survey. sadly.

I'd like just one DALPA guy to post here and say "yeah guys, we got taken on that last deal....I promise, it won't happen again".

It won't happen. But I can dream...
