Fences......long, tall fences.

Little late for that. Arbitrators have been doing pretty much % for while now.But that said arbitration is arbitration.Back in the day so to speak when it was almost always DOH plus 5 /8 year fences at least you knew what you were signing up for. I can se 6 year 737 Ca being mixed in with somebody's 12 year 737 all in the name of %. As they say careful what you ask for.

I highly doubt 1400 pilots will make that much of an impact to a 11,700ish list, especially with some fences involved. Add in the fact that Delta would be the purchaser.... Look at NWA, most of those guys lost 3+ years.

You parroted over and over that ALV+15 was for covering the long trips in international categories.

I can remember back in C2K reading the DALPA message boards. One guy was complaining loudly about how much reserve sucked, etc. Someone else chimed in, "uh, right now reserve is a pretty good gig and actually goes senior in some categories."

His response? "Well, something is wrong with a system where any pilot would voluntarily choose reserve."

UNbelievable.

More people are voluntarily choosing reserve now than they were before the TA. I'm typically going to work 3-5 days a week whether I have a line or am on reserve so personally I'd rather have better QOL (weekends off in my case). As another recently stated, if it means less money, so be it. Matter of fact, when asked by a friend of mine how I was liking the job before the reserve rule changes and the TA I told him that while I'd like more pay I'd rather have everything else remain the same than change it. Too bad we couldn't have left it like it was and gotten 20%-5%-5% (and kept what we lost in profit sharing). Seems with everything my predecessors gave up, and how we're told pilots are as valued as much as they say we'd be worth at least that. With profits every quarter, and records being set it would seem an easy case to make that we've earned it.

Saw this elsewhere

On Friday, a respected aviation blog called“Operationally Speaking” said research is underway. Boeing and a number of big European manufacturers are reportedly interested.

It would work like this: a co-pilot would be stationed on the ground. That co-pilot would essentially act like the pilot of an unmanned drone. They would be able to take “remote control” of the flight if needed.

That seat will go senior

If the ALV is 80, guarantee is 78, and youre at 77 hours with 4 days left on reserve which system would you rather have, the old or new one?

14 days at 77 is 5.5 hours a day. Love to see pairings that high in pay...

Yep.

At Delta, 6 years barely gets 737 reserve in Atlanta.

That info is bunk. I just gave you the real numbers. Care to share the link to these press releases?

You're using the 6 year captain as an example of how relative position could go, right? 6 years is bubble for FO between line holder and reserve in the lower 48 too. ANC goes quite a bit jr.

Jr. captain is 12 years in ANC and 13 years for lower 48.
