There is no requirement to remain theater qualled, right? So you can avoid going far east or far west forever, if you like. The problem with having an all encompassing "Avoid Theater" would be; who decides what is Far East or what is Far West and Far South? What is Hawaii? How about Aruba? Or Bogota? Is Athens the same as Cairo? Where does Europe end and Middle East begin? I'll go to Joburg, but I'm never going to Lagos! :eek: So an "Avoid Africa" won't work for me. I don't mind putting in a few extra minutes by being more specific on something as important as my bids...:rolleyes: I guess if they did a simple, "Avoid all International" choice, that would work for the guys who just want to fly domestic 757, but that wipes out St. Marten, my favorite 24 hr. layover! As soon as we get Longevity Based Pay, I'm bidding what ever lays over in SXM, for the rest of my life! |

Delta's is hand fly it. Look for stuff like the MD-90s. The Wright Brothers bucked the trend in their time and went for a design that was inherently unstable like a bicycle is unstable so that they could control it, being unstable is not a bad thing. |

We also hold options for 30 more 737's. the fleet plan has us parking 85 757's in that period. There will be some A320's parked in Addition to the 757's however the net gain in airframes should be around 130 How many is "some A320's parked?" 5? 40? More than 40? Net gain "should be around". Should be..... And are those two new RFP's firm orders? Or is that just shopping around for price on something that may or may not happen? You're right 76drvr. Those were fact filled posts. And nothing is "confirmed" until they are on the line flying revenue trips. |

I don't know, Hell I'm just spit-ballin here, lets say stock. Do you suppose that some in management would take actions to pump up the short term price of our stock - even if there were alternate actions that could far better help the company in the long run? Can you say stock buyback? I am not saying that there is no truth to your post, but if you have to assume that our management is functioning efficiently with only the long term interest of DAL in mind then you are overlooking a lot, and I do mean a lot of DALs post-2000 history. Sailing, you owe it to fellow pilots and yourself to know the truth and because of your position, represent the truth. The reality is Delta pilots got hoodwinked big time, it was an industry effort. We did restore some pay, exceptionally so in the case of widebody captains, sadly this targets a small group. Lastly, growth airplanes? What has out post merger history taught us? So we shrank all this way via early outs and retirements to turn around and grow capacity back? Im not saying 321s and 330s are not a possibility, but it will take awhile to convince this pilot any management team has an agenda other than being a One World, Sky Team or Star Alliance CEO with a multitude of operators to whipsaw from. Come on sailing, inside you know better and you probably are a smart guy. Heck with ALPA and those with secret agendas. Lets get DAL a union that will preserve the profession and take care of "us." You know this needs to happen, I and about half the list know it needs to happen. FPL and selling your soul to the devil is not a better life than "just flying the line." |
This is kind of irritating...twice in the past two months a sweet trip shows up for pickup on the swap board, but the comments say that it's only for a specific employee number. Why do that instead a swap with friends? Juniority sucks.
