I thought the new PWA put an end to trip parking?

Interesting question. Why do you care? Just asking.

I think it worthwhile to think about the direction that we have gone since signing the contract to answer it though. Fewer RJs. That slop has to be taken up somewhere. 88-717s coming aboard. Problem solved.

The rest will be easy enough to figure out too. Look at what is going away, and what is replacing it. Then figure a small percentage of that small "growth" number will be actual growth. I buy sailing's argument, but I really don't see that much true growth. It will keep up with inflation if you will, but that is about it.

I agree.

The reason I ask though is to try and figure out whether they're really growth airframes or not. If we're going to have all this new growth of 40 A321s and 88 B717s, seems like we're expanding. That's like almost 17,000 new seats before you take out the net loss for DCI of 5,500 seats. That's a 11% or more growth.

So if you were to ask me do I believe they're growth, I'd say only if you showed me where we are expanding into. I can't really think of anywhere.

Tell me about it. Atl 88 is like being on reserve. Reroute almost every trip. Got rerouted this last trip on day 2 of 4. No weather, just them trying to keep a flight on time(other crew was a little late and we had a 1.5 sit). They just completely swapped our days 2, 3, and 4 with another crews(which got us back 3 hrs later than original on day 4. Messing up my commute and the f/o's afternoon Memorial day plans). The f/o bids the particular city we lost as his 1st choice in pbs each month. When I called to question the reroute, and why there was no attempt to try and get us back on track on days 3 & 4, to her credit she did offer to drop the penalty lap on day 4 for us.

You're forgetting the 737-900ERs plus the remaining MD90s. :)

Going after LUV while they are still choking on AT? hehehehehe It's all domestic though, and that concerns me a bit. It has to be competitive in nature, and that means going after someone. Who's the most vulnerable?

3 major mergers still in work, and in merger world, 1+1 does not = 2. There might be some vacated areas there that might become available.....

I'm just spitballing.

We've got to tighten up the reroute language.

As it stands right now, the company can declare an IROP and reroute us any time, at its pleasure.

Or maybe I should start dating one or more of the crew tracking ladies so I can "get some" (good deals out of seniority).

Here's an honest question - with all the incoming aircraft (and some retirements), what do you see the Delta Pilot Block Hours doing over the next few years? SD always says we staff for Pilot Block Hours, not airframes or routes.

We staff for block hours plus credit time. Sadly credit time has taken a big hit because Delta is finally running a very good airline. Block hours however generally trend with the number of airframes. It's too expensive to not maximize airframe usage over the long term. Since Delta can't add any 76 seat jets to DCI without growing the mainline I see hours going up substantially over the next 3 years.
