Actually these displacements are the strongest evidence yet that the 75's are staying around longer. While there's no money in hiring pilots, there's clearly money in binge and purge boiler room day trading style overreaction staffing rebalances on an almost monthly basis. So I think this one has legs.
What do you mean about the FTDT changes though? Do you think they are actually dellusional enough to displace 100 pilots in an attempt to fantasy staff 9 block hour days with no more "legal to start legal to finish"?

Mechanic came up to the cockpit last night with a story.
We came this close to losing a Mad Dog two nights ago on approach to ATL.
Severe hail damage. Shattered both outer windshields. Destroyed the leading edge devices. Radome gone. Horizontal and vertical stabs shredded. Huge dents all over the fuselage. etc. etc.
Very, very bad.
Airplane diverted to GSO I think he said. Mechanics who were sent to assess the thing said they are surprised that it landed. Said it will be repaired but its going to take a long time.
Also some very interesting details about ATC's role in putting the crew into that storm.
We're going to be hearing a lot more about this one.

Nobody likes declaring an emergency, but you have the authority...and you must use it. Another great lesson for us because it didn't cost lives.
