Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
Given the huge displacement drive ... crew resources apparently does not find that story credible. IMHO some of these displacements are part of the FTDT changes ....
Also, there is positive correlation between the Company's bad faith on JV scope and staffing reductions.

Sounds great but is anyone else worried that with all this growth we're about to experience* and that we're only down like 1000 pilots in 3 years, which is more retirements than we have coming up in the next 3-4 years, and there's no money in hiring pilots, that we might eventually have to hire some pilots to slightly reduce the rate of shrinking the number of pilots? Capacity restraint, leveraging synnergies, yielding to LCC's to preserve...yields? At least the new peak hour hump is in March. So once we get past that we're home free for another year.

Ahhhhhhhhhh, <picture person drinking a nice cold beer on a hot day> that's refreshing......more doom & gloom.
Of course the company couldn't be "behind", and have made a mistake by "not" hiring pilots and are just now putting forth smaller AE's to staff the smaller equipment as they need for summer flying. (Read: So they don't have to cancel domestic trips for lack of crews.

P.S. Continue the "sky is falling, we'll never hire, never get a raise, never make it to the left seat" banter. I prefer to maintain my excitement for the fall when we "do" hire, and for the future of Delta Air Lines and it's pilots.
P.P.S. Bar, when were we going to furlough again?
ALCON,

All have a nice day.

I'm curious: How are the many displaced pilots that are going to need training due to this last AE going to cover said summer flying when they'll be sitting in the schoolhouse? It is already the middle of June (and if I'm not mistaken, this was for July conversion at earliest). Anybody training for a new position may make it to the line by mid/late-August...
Additionally: did not the AE/management state that this AE was to set up for Fall/Winter flying?

Remember the -400 out of Dtw?
ATC can never "put" you in a storm. You can willingly fly into one, but they can't put you into one. I've declared an emergency, ignored an ATC clearance, and flew around weather as I saw fit at least a half dozen times in my career.
Nobody likes declaring an emergency, but you have the authority...and you must use it. Another great lesson for us because it didn't cost lives.

I know that it is not for covering this summer.
It was Gearjerk that mentioned/brought up about the covering of summer flying.
Any Mad dog management pilots online today? Confirm or deny this hail incident?
