Then that would apply to every airline, not just Delta. And revenue was UP 2% from last year, just not as high as expected.

DAL stock has climbed around 80% in the last 5 months.

Mountain out of molehill IMO.

I agree. Stuart Varney and his "expert" are idiots. The sad thing is that they bashed us for about 10 minutes on the most popular cable network in the country. People will believe it.

Absolutely. I've been with them for about 15 years. Especially with kids. The channel choices are awesome.

I think there are two things reporters know, politics and entertainment. The rest they don't. Sure there are some that can branch out into law because they were lawyers like a Megyn Kelly but I think that's their limit. For the rest they bring in experts and when it comes to aviation those experts are corporate pilots who got 2 hours in a Citation and spent just a tad more in Cessna 421s. The know it all at the local airport FBO counter who can't get any attention from the girl behind the desk. The guy who ratchets up a panic for the #3 tire being blown or when an American MD-80 is about to land nose wheel up he gives you the great insight that the pilots will shutdown the engines before the nose hits to save them from damage.

So really it's not as much about having low information voters as low information reporters and low experience experts.

For example, a low information reporter from our friends at CNN, "are asteroids caused by global warming or is this some sort of meteroic occasion?"

Wasn't me. I always sign off with a very energetic "see ya!"

Not really.

80, my wife wants to get rid of DirecTv but it's only because we don't watch tv anymore. They've actually been fantastic over the now nearly 8 or 9 years we've used them. I think we pay about $91/mo when you include the package and HD and extra sets. No movie channels. Doesn't matter, if you're new you get the good stuff just like new hires will get the ER and 717.

We watch Disney, NickJr, PBS, Nova, Modern Family, How It's Made and that's it. So Roku might be around the corner for us. Of course we'll need a higher power internet then DSL so who knows.

Sports? I don't even have time for 4 hours of sports watching and I haven't figured out what the plan is there.

My wife and I ditched cable/satellite about a year ago. We have an HD antenna for the local channels, and Netfix and Hulu+ for everything else. It's been great for everything except sports. Every so often there's a game on TNT or ESPN that I'll miss because of the arrangement.

You just have to figure out if the programming you want is available via streaming. If so, I'd say cut the cord. It saves us about $60/month.

Does ESPN have a plan you can pay for to watch them online? That may be the solution we all need if it even exists... I guess I could go look but I've got a 5am show.

Rock on folks.

What really irks me, for the past oh...30 years, the idiots on TV have failed to acknowledge the 500lb. Gorilla in the room...

FUEL PRICES!

Gas at the pump is over $3.50 today, what was it 30 years ago? 75 cents? Less? The cost of Jet Fuel has gone up at least 300% in the past 30 years, yet airline ticket prices have not gone up at all.

Not at all.

In 30 years.

You can still buy a ticket today on Air Tran for $49. You cannot drive to the airport and park your car for that.

The Talking Heads refuse to admit they should be paying well over $1,000 one way, every coach ticket, for a one hour flight. But they are still paying $100-300.

Same as in 1985, when Av Gas was about 70 cents a gallon.

The price of everything else in the world had gone up at least 300% in the past 30 years, yet airline ticket prices are about the same as they were back then.

So...where did the "Difference" come from? Who has been paying for the huge run up in Av Gas prices over the past 30 years, if not the ticket buyers??

Look in your DB retirement plan and check your paycheck, then you'll see who's been paying for it. We are still being paid at 30 year old rates.

These TV Tools who spout off about how they are being raped by the airlines, need to pull their heads out and do some basic math. Inflation adjusted from 1985, they should be paying over $3,000 for a ticket from JFK to LAX today, yet they are still only paying $300.

Thank GOD (or Dog for you dyslexic agnostics) the Majors are finally consolidating and have stopped undercutting each other with stupid fare wars. Extra Fees? Yeah, fk you, pay me!
