It appears that KLM and AF are trying to undercut our prices on our metal to get Europeans to fly Skyteam, but DAL is not doing so when you try to book the same flights through the DAL website.

That's interesting because according to the article and the alliance that is not allowed. Perhaps we charge a premium for Russians because of their unstable behavior with all those crazy Ivan's and risky golden touch drivers. It's a gamble every time I hear that accent and get picked up at Newark to head downtown NYC.

Skyteam is one thing, but a JV is another animal completely. Skyteam is not all JV partners, remember that. What the JV is, is basically a merger without a corporate closing and merging of employee groups. Pricing, network and profit loss are shared with AF.

It's not like any US carrier says "you know what is missing from our network...Russia". The demand for Americans heading to Russia on a daily basis must be very low unless it's to NYC or MIA.
I think its a pretty good market already and one that has growth potential down the road. I'd add DC to that list as well for heavy O&D and numerous large and mid sized cities for connections. Its interesting how DL was the only US airline to fly there for a while, then all the sudden everyone else capacity dumped and DL pulled one flight a day out to gift the capacity back and used Aeroflot to pick up the peak flying slack.

9 extra -400 to Delta would be a nice little start.

9 744's.

Delta has probably already signed the note for them.

But just in time for C2015, the Delta/ALPA coalition will tell us we absolutely MUST give up 100 seat scope to get them.

Now that Obesity has been declared a disease by the AMA, can airlines be sued for discrimination when asking an obese person to buy two tickets or remove them from an airplane when they don't fit in the seat purchased or will they still have the "safety of flight" card?
