ACL,

What's up with a new narrowbody international base possibly opening?

Are you talking about a NRT base, a BOS 757 base, a NRT 320 base? Be a little more specific.

Yes, but I do not think that they are looking at more than 12 -18 months on those. I know that most are for six months or so.

Yes, but DAL-N will still be overstaffed just like S. The Co. has said they will not F for now, but that requires carrying the excess - on both sides. We can argue about who is more or less overstaffed, but with the Co. committed to carrying the overage, it gives them considerable latitude to play shell games with where and how to manipulate minimum training cycles ahead of the first combined AE's.

I give them 5 to 1 odds. If they use it out of a current hub they will need a new jet. I do not think the 330 will make NRT from CLT.

Parker already said that they would operate it from PHX sometime in the 2012 time frame with an A330. A lot can happen in that time though.

might require some looking into and or a grievance. I'm not sure if it has to totally complied with Sept 1st or if they are looking through a loophole and be fully complied with "IN September". Email your rep and let us know what he says.

yeah...I think a little over 10 new captain positions. The big news is ZERO displacements. We are short....or at least the shortest I have seen in over a year or two. I honestly think that with the BP5's coming up, if we were still a stand alone (no SOC) we would need to hire some. Just look at those august retirements in the newsletter. Wow.. The ANC base closure and 200+ additional pilots...I guess made zero difference.

I think the north side will be BEYOND lean come SOC. I honestly don't see how we can go through ALL of fall and into the winter without some kind of manning adjustment. Do you'll think the company will come to the union for an early AE? If the south manning needs to be adjusted? I think we need bodies.
