I believe the tickets must be booked on the same flights. The positive space tickets are for any DL destination including international flights.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks. The deltanet website states that you must accompany the person you give the other ticket to, but I am wondering what happens if I get somewhere and for whatever reason I cannot accompany that person back, will they still be allowed to use the ticket?

I would like to take my brother to Europe next summer, but if I do not get all the days off required for the trip, can I take him there and then non rev back early and just give up the remainder of my positive space ticket? Will they still allow him to use his ticket?

if anyone knows..........................

You could always leave your bro there till your next round of X days and babysit him back.... As much as I appreciate this free ticket, but this "buddy" system simply isn't quite customer friendly!

Kinda reminds me of the old 9E "buddy pass", works exactly the same.

What are the chances of DAL letting a person go on voluntary furlough now for 5 years. I have a job opportunity that could keep me paid and keep someone else from having to go on furlough?

I think if furloughs are planned, the company would allow personal leaves of absence. ACL65 said something that before they got to furloughs, they would most likely offer leaves of absence. I personally know someone who got a LOA around the time of the furloughs at Delta in 2003 timeframe.

I too have heard that voluntary LOAs are usually offered prior to guys hitting the streets. That said, I'd want to make sure that my rights and privledges for taking LOA are the same as if you were furloughed. Not sure if all the recall rights, travel benefits, longevitiy, heath care, etc. are the same if you "voluntarily" walk away for a while.

But let's not forget that we have a big merge coming soon with SOC. Our schedules will further be reduced / optimized. Even if our overlap is 5%, or in other words a 5% reduction in flights / pilots, that is roughly 600 pilots.

My two cents ...

I'm prepared for whatever happens. I just wish I knew so I could get started early on a plan of action just in case the big F comes.

Except we have the PERPS retiring & DAL-N has still not hit DAL-S Staffing formula's.

KC10 FATboy 08-26-2009 06:45 PM

I keep hearing about this DAL-S staffing level, but do we know for sure that it's going to happen?

The last NYC CP Newsletter said the company intends to be "very generous" with LOAs starting in the fall and to swing by the office if interested. From what I can tell the travel benefits are cut back some on Personal LOA. Maybe all S4 and no love for the parents. Doe anyone know anything different?

ACL,

What's up with a new narrowbody international base possibly opening?

There is a lot that is going to happen here, some of it shortly and some of it over the next few months, but rest assured that we are in the best place to get through it. I would not want to be anywhere else. It is going to get ugly.

It will be very telling to see what LCC does with the Asia route authority. What are the Vegas odds of them actually operating the route?
