I bet that all of the WB pilots get close or actually displace. They need to bodies for the narrow body summer flying. How many get recalled will be the interesting part.

Of note there are many junior ER guys that will have recall rights before the MDed 767 guys senior to them. That will make for interesting talk it they actually do what they are talking about and reinstate on the next bid.

I fought hard to get here to fly some international..........

Well, it is not up to us. I would like to see us just buy jets and expand.

I seem to be one of only a couple suggesting this isn't necessarily an automatic call, even if I agree with you the PA sounds pretty stupid. The part about reading a resume in public tells me this guy is a tool, but not that he's acting against the interests of the company. The computer joke tells me he is not as funny as he thinks he is, and that he is potentially embarassing you, me, and the company. Then again, he didn't say anything that wasn't factual, or anything that was rude.

Still, if it had been your judgment at the time to call Pro-Standards, or talk to this guy, that would be fine too. There is no harm in sorting out with Pro-Standards whether this is or isn't worth calling the guy in for a little counseling.

I just think you forfeit your right to go to Pro-Standards when you start the discussion in a public venue first. In effect, you've made your call already. That's the point I'd like to make to our twelve angry men on here: you were there, and you didn't call. The F/O was there, and it doesn't sound like he called. You didn't privately ask a friend whether you should make a call, and you didn't ask Pro-Standards whether this was an issue worth discussing with him. You didn't have a converation with the Captain. You came on APC, and asked for a review of the play, which is perfectly fine. So in effect we can discuss the play, and talk about wteher you should have thrown a flag, or about how to rule in future games, but I don't think we should change the score.

I guess the real difference of opinion between me and them is that they are telling you what to do as if dealing with a hypothetical case: if this happens, you ought to consider doing this. And I agree in that sense: they're giving good advice for a hypothetical case. But you didn't call Pro-Standards, and this isn't a hypothetical case. And therefore, my advice is that it would not be appropriate, right now, to bring this any further. If, in the future, you encounter another yahoo like this, and you keep it small, keep it private, and raise it to the attention of Pro-Standards, then I think you would be entirely correct. As you said: "next time..."

Purchasing the company is not up to us, true, but what we do with an SLI is, at least to some degree..............

Superdad, it is and it and I am sure it is being looked at.

Guys,

Thanks for everyone's reply on my experience with Captain Fabulous.

The reason I didn't go face to face with this guy is because I'm pretty new to DAL, the cockpit door was still shut when I deplaned and I had a very tight conncection.

The Pro-stan people on this forum have already contacted me, and I gave them the flight's data. I also told them that if this guy refuted anything I said, they should call me and we will all meet face to face. With him being so famous amongst the MD88 F/O's, I'm betting Pro-stan already knows this guy well.

For those few here who think I forfeited my right to ever discuss this with Pro-stan because I didn't wait around to confront the guy, I disagree. I should have done that - it was my mistake not to. But ignoring Pro-stan now is not the thing to do either.

If we merge with Alaska, it'll be the last time an MSP pilot gets to talk smack about cold weather...

But hey, the summers are cool. Beautiful scenery and the bugs get so big they look like Beavers on floats. Thats really a big red lady bug.

I wouldn't have said anything either. It wouldn't have been worth it.

However, eventually an 88 FO with a iphone will use the voice memo recorder and then maybe some things can be straightened out with said Captain and some DALPA folks. Everything can be recorded in a blink of an eye these days. :D

Thats why I still look for a youtube video that says "REALLY WIDE DELTA CO-PILOT LOOKS THROUGH CABIN FLOOR PEEPHOLE TO FIND OUT IF LANDING GEAR IS DOWN IN FLIGHT!!!"

 Lord help me if that video ever surfaces.

Super,

You won't lose any numbers or relative seniority unless of course your expectation is to staple. Although a merger could add 1,500 pilots to the seniority list a merger will also include 100+ airplanes, block hours and new routes. In other words, staff neutral. Your opportunity with Delta, in the end, will remain the same.

Consolidation is a different issue. Nobody wins if that happens.

BTW, it might come as a surprise to learn that most if not all at Alaska are happy flying the equipment and domestic routes they do. WB and long-haul international would be of no interest. As a result, Life-long fences would be expected...and fair.
