Delta Air Lines Expands BusinessElite Service from New York
New flat bed seats now available on all flights to London-Heathrow, U.S. BusinessElite added to Los Angeles, San Francisco NEW YORK, Aug. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Delta Air Lines (NYSE: DAL - News) today announced a significant expansion of BusinessElite service from New York. The airline has added full-flat beds to all flights between New York-JFK and London-Heathrow, and in September will begin to introduce new BusinessElite service on transcontinental flights between Delta's JFK hub and Los Angeles and San Francisco. Today's announcement is part of Delta's continued focus on the New York market including the recently announced plans to create a domestic hub at LaGuardia and the re-launch of the revitalized Red Coat program that began at Delta's international hub at JFK. With the expanded service, Delta will offer customers: * Fully flat beds with 180 degrees of recline and 77 to 82 inches of legroom in the BusinessElite cabin of all flights between New York and London. The new seats are arranged in a one-two-one configuration, allowing each customer direct aisle access and enhanced privacy. * Popular cradle-style seats with 150 degrees of recline and 55 inches of pitch in the BusinessElite cabin on all transcontinental flights between New York and San Francisco and Los Angeles. These seats are the same as Delta's business class offering on 757-200ER international flights and offer personal on-demand games, music and movies at every seat. * Wireless Internet access for both business- and economy-class customers on all flights between New York and Los Angeles and San Francisco by the end of the year. |
Can "OO" aka Skywest employees bump us off our own flights?
Travelnet lists OO higher than Delta, based on DOH. What gives? |

So at last count I have received 3 campaign emails for the upcoming council 44 captain rep. They all say they want to restore pay and repair scope. They pretty much all sound the same. Any suggestion on how to get more information about them? I want to vote for someone but if I don't know them personally how do I choose? Anyone?
What would you like to know? I have received maybe 50 emails and exactly 3 calls out of a council of 4000. I even signed up on APC to provide a wider range of communication. I'm listening. |

Thanks for making yourself available! If I write "brake chatter" on a nomination card, our MEC will disavow even knowing this thing called APC exists. We will need a name to support you :) Overall, the e-mails we have received in C44 are very ambiguous on "scope." No one has explained how unity would be restored, or how we would have Delta pilots performing more Delta flying. Your thoughts are requested on the following issues: (1) Unity - what does this mean to you as an ALPA Representative? (2) As a ALPA Representative, what does the term "fiduciary duty" mean to you? (3) Scope: -Restoration, recapture 76 seat flying? (4) RepresentationIf yes, then how? -Compass, in or out? (5) Flow through agreements? Yes / NoOther issues, such are compensation, retirement and insurance all have similar answers, but if you have a differing platform that helps distinguish your positions from the status quo, we'd sure like to know. I will not reply, or debate, unless asked to provide my answers. This is your forum. Thank you for sharing your positions. |

I think Skywest employees board at same priority level as mainline Delta employees unlike Mesaba, Compass or Comair folks. So Skywest pilot or FA with greater seniority than you can bump you off your own Delta flight.
This is crazy if you ask me. Now, on their equipment it's different. I wish Travelnet had a priority list for all the DCI carriers. For example, I'm S3 on Comair, but S3C on ASA. I have no idea about the other DCI carriers. At least now they're showing who each person works for. Before, everyone would show as DL. On my last flight on the ER back in March, I had wanted to bring my wife along. When I saw a bunch of nonrevs listed for the flight back, we decided she wouldn't go. Turned out it was a whole group of SkyWest flight attendants traveling as S3Cs. My wife could have easily gotten on. But since they were listed a DL, instead of OO as it is now, we had no way of knowing at the time. |
Thanks UP, just figured that out. You are correct.

If I find it, I'll pass it along. |
