Hey Denny.
Yesterday someone in Anchorage checked the weather in Minneapolis and said, "Holy crap! It's cold there!!" See what I mean? :) |

If they do hire late in the year, it is to have the newbies ready to go for the summer. |

Thanks..... The 747 cockpit is a little on the loud side and depending upon when I go to training I may make the plunge on a tbone I just wanted to be sure it would work (I believe our -9's don't use a boom mike). Guess I will wait and see what they post for expected training dates.

What kind of items can one get away with for a training event, as expenses? I don't think I use this option to the fullest at present time....
Suggestions please.. |

On the other forum someone mentioned that the average price of hotel rooms in NYC is about $125 after taxes. Is that true for these hotels, or are they more?
What about the average crash pad situation? Do you have to "crash" in a dump to be able to afford it? The Pan American is about $100 after taxes. No idea what it's like, but the shuttle service to LGA and JFK is a huge plus. |

The 88 cockpit is very quiet. I used a Telex 750 for many years and was happy with it. I don't think a noise reduction headset is needed.

Be sure that it is "approved", I had a LCP tell me he didn't purchase one because of that.

Just non-rev'd from PHL to ATL on an MD. Before pushback, the Capt introduced himself and the F/O using the boarding door's PA phone. He then gave all of us his background of flying F-14, then F-18's. He said it again just in case nobody heard it the first time. Then as he thanked us all for being here, he said: "neither me or my copilot have our laptops in the cockpit, so we'll just be landing in Atlanta, not over-flying it by 100 miles." There was a little nervous laughter, but mostly just puzzled looks.
Am I the only one that thinks that was a stupid thing to say? Carl |

Carl[/quote] Carl, How does the song go, something like, "I've got all my wisdom teeth, yet my mouth says things aren't very wise." :) Scoop |
