The only commuter hotel I've stayed in is the Rockville Center Inn; it's fairly nice, an runs about $125/ night. You can check out as late as 4pm, which is key for international trips.

The Pan American is about $100 after taxes. No idea what it's like, but the shuttle service to LGA and JFK is a huge plus.

Thanks CVG. Between the minus 20 degree temps in MSP, the $125 hotel rooms in NYC and the huge flush in ATL, I think DTW is calling on me to stay. :)

Then as he thanked us all for being here, he said: "neither me or my copilot have our laptops in the cockpit, so we'll just be landing in Atlanta, not over-flying it by 100 miles." There was a little nervous laughter, but mostly just puzzled looks.

Sounds like one of these guys that still uses his callsign from his military days.
Some guys just can't let go of their glory days.

This may have been addressed previously but with regards to vacation bidding, I am being MD'd off the 767 to the 88. Do we bid for vacation in our current category or future category? I am bidding for my current category but wanted to know if I am mistaken? Thanks guys and happy New Year!

I think I'll be heading that way, too. For now, I'm waiting to see the DTW777 bid package, and what my schedule would look like, before I take the plunge. See you in the DTW pilot lounge--

Unbelievable! Where do we get such knuckleheads. Carl, I wish you would have said something to him!

You bid your vacation based on the category you will hold on 31 January 2010. Sounds like that will be your current category. With an MD you will keep whatever vacation you bid on the initial vacation bids. AE/VD's will have to rebid their vacations.

I believe you NewK!!!! I believe you!!!!!!:D

It's a great base, CVG. Just pack a lunch, because the vendors in the airport gouge us. See you in the lounge. Maybe I'll open up a concession stand and charge less than $10 for a sandwhich and chips. (APC guys, first lunch free) :)

Denny, this is the time of year that I just look at the weather in MSP and shake my head.... :D
