Tsquare, you stated:

"we ALWAYS negotiate from a middle stance. in case you don't believe that, please re-read the SLI transcripts"

I read the SLI transcripts and from the transcripts your middle of the road position was the stapling of nearly 500 NWA pilots, even below those who started their DAL careers post merger announcement. My point was simply this is not middle of the road. Apparently the other guy who needs his back creamed on likes this idea. I could care less what he thinks. My response simply is this proposal was not middle of the road as was shown in the results.

This is a dead issue now and I'm done with it, just simply disagreeing that your SLI position during arbitration was a "middle stance."

Perhaps someone can help me out on this? What's the quote? Something about whenever one's logic won't carry the day, one can always stoop to assassinating the character of one's opponent??? Escapes me for now...

That was actually the proposal from DALPA going into arbitration. When a attempt was made to reach a prenuptial agreement DALPA proposed a ration system. To quote "Our proposal is designed to reach a quick settlement. We have opened with a position designed to get a agreement. The proposed list keeps each pilot at both airlines within .05 percent of their premerger seniority."

NWA rejected that option and the much better joint contract that came with it. The DALPA opener was taken off the table for arbitration. It was made clear that no negotition positions prior to arbitration would carry forward into arbitration. Even in the second attempt to get a list the table position from DALPA did not staple 500 NWA pilots to the bottom. The final list from the arbitrator was however very very close to the original DALPA proposal. Almost mirrored it!

Per the SLI transcripts he referenced, DALPA did propose exactly that.

Classy. Interesting though that this time you left out my disclaimer of no intended malice.

Well you are not "simply disagreeing" but that is irrelevant anyway. You feel the way you do, and I have my points. I'll just let you have the last word. Happy New Year

No... WE were using it as an example on a different discussion, and somebody threw gas and lit a match. Not my fault here.

No malice taken. No big deal. Happy New Years as well.

Please tell me you guys aren't getting your panties in a wad over a flame-baiter that manages to call another DAL pilot an idiot on his 11th post. Ever.

Ignore, ignore, ignore.

Over.
