What's the gouge on getting released a few hours early from short call? Is it possible? Its all I'm doing these days and I'd really like an adult beverage or two, seeing as its New Years and all that.

Buzz,

I did EXACTLY that last New Year's Eve. I called them around 10pm when I was on SC until 2am, and they were real easy about it. They'll check to see if there's anything they might need you for, but they get it and they are reasonable especially in a case like that!

YMMV...Philly

Thanks Philly. Just gave them a call and they cut me loose two hours prior. They were very cool about. Happy New Years!

I call them every time I'm on SC and ask to get released early. They will release you 2 hours prior about 99% of the time and if they are in a good mood I've gotten cut loose 3 hours prior. Basically if they haven't used you by 2 hours prior to your end time they can't do anything with you anyways so they'll let you go.

No my wife told me to bid A positions. I am sure that I may never see it by the next bid but who cares

For those of you that are keeping count.

AS soon.
JAL should be ours
100 seater shortly
new wide bodies
base closure
one if not two new base openings in 2010.
Old base will be getting lots of flights soon

When all of this comes out in short order it will make your heads swim.

Happy New Year.

Old base. Hmmm. SEA wasn't a pilot base at Delta, PDX was. So I am guessing DFW, with MD90s. We still have plenty of Platinum Medallion people living in the Metroplex, and the MD90 can hit every corner of the US from DFW. We will have bases in every corner doing international flights eventually, so DFW seems like a logical choice.

Nu

With Allegiant setting up shop at MCO and moving stuff from Sanford to compete with Airtran, I just don't see it. SWA and JB are also strong there. I don't think so.

Actually SEA was a 727 pilot base with Delta after the Western merger. It closed in the early 90's.

Would ACL know that? He wasn't born until the early 90s. :)

No.. he's a Bammer, and you have not the clue. You came into an argument and threw a grenade at something that was not even brought up. I was arguing with alfa about negotiating stances using SLI as an example, and you blew it up. In my post (which you even quoted) I said no malice was intended toward fNWA. YOU blew it up.
