They are only allowed on 365 day conversion a year and they used it up for 2009 last winter on the DAL S side.
As a side note: VERY intriguing list of possibilities you posted! These are interesting times indeed  |
Why the big push for SEA? Don't we already have a base there?

Exactly, and the man did say 'former' base. PDX may have some traction, but I would bet BOS or DFW. Certainly not MSY, unfortunately:(

The only way they will post the bid on the 31st is if the union will give them the 365 conversion for 2010 with a post date of 12.31.2010 If not you have to wait a day for them to post is

Actually the contract references the 210 and 365 day windows by dating of posting not date of closure. That makes this bid illegal. It should have posted 1 Jan and closed 11 Jan at the earliest. I think the union is giving them a pass on this but I know a couple pilots who are considering filing a grievance.
I've heard of several other grievances as well... up to and including North guys suing to be award DTW 777 since it's "replacing" 744 flying. Ugh. |
Just when you thought it was safe to back in the water......

Do you mean stapling approx 500 NWA guys to the bottom, even behind the DAL newhires who started after the announcement?
NWA rejected that option and the much better joint contract that came with it. The DALPA opener was taken off the table for arbitration. It was made clear that no negotition positions prior to arbitration would carry forward into arbitration. Even in the second attempt to get a list the table position from DALPA did not staple 500 NWA pilots to the bottom. The final list from the arbitrator was however very very close to the original DALPA proposal. Almost mirrored it! |
