Anyone read the Koolaid Kronicle excerts over the urinals in the bathroom in ATL ops?
The diatribe on vacation weeks available is absolutely classic. |

I was disappointed when I looked up the amount of weeks that Delta has made available during the summer months. Every third week during the summer has a very low number which prevents taking more than two weeks of vacation in that month. One week in July has only 13 days, which means only the top 13 A320 Capts can expect to be awarded more than two weeks of vacation during July. 13 out of 265 pilots is a very low number. More even distribution of vacation should be issued. Delta is forcing us to take a majority of our vacation outside of the summer weeks. One of the most important reasons to stay senior on an a/c has been taken away!
You are correct as far as vacation goes - but there are some other possibilities: Get one week vacation and use PCS to try to bid the days prior or after your vacation off. It is normally pretty realistic to get a few days off on either end. If the above does not work or you still want more days off use your once a year APD to drop a trip or up to 4 days of reserve (pretty sure its 4 maximum). Using the above techniques you can almost always add 5-10 extra days to any vacation period - the downside is you will not know for sure until 1 month prior and the APD, although a very powerful tool for dropping a trip is non-pay - consider it purchasing another week of vacation. :) Scoop |

Your wife isn't Danish is she? |
Is there a seatlock from MD88F/O to MD90F/O? We only have to do a CD for difference training. I can't imagine there would be a seat lock but I seem to remember something like 9 months?

I remember hearing that they got rid of the seat lock. |

The ATL Chief Pilot was in the lounge pretty much all day on Christmas and again on New Years Day. I just wanted to post how much I appreciated him being there. I am sure he didn't have to do that.
