What's the gouge on getting released a few hours early from short call? Is it possible? Its all I'm doing these days and I'd really like an adult beverage or two, seeing as its New Years and all that.

I do this often so that I can catch an earlier flight home. They will usually release you two hours early if there isn't much going on. Definitely worth a call.

Didn't they relocate the lounge? The old one had a shower and a work out room.

Yeah, the new one is the old Crown Room. Its by far the nicest in the FDAL system. Hate to see it go.

Thanks Dash, will do. They've got some other guys coming on so I'll give it a shot.

I ask from time to time, as my flight home is at 1230 and my SC usually ends at 1300. I've never been told no. The worse they can say is, "No beer for you!"

Real classy group of guys.

You will learn they sue for just about everything. From what I hear, they will sue to take from you and I, if it will put more money in their pockets.

Not sure how much time you spent in ANC, but being on the 742 I'm sure you've unknowingly flown with a few from the infamous crowd!

I think the last 747-200 flt was on either the 26th or 28th, so that is all gone now. So prob a DC9 -30 or -40 series.

The CP for CVG greeted the crew on a turn there during my last rotation. He talked about how the cincy to Paris flight was the highest grossing flight in the system.

Sigh.......

Why don't we just make LAX a "real" base. That gets my vote (for obvious reasons).;)
