Bar, does your data include their latest contract pay rates? Also, I think their reserve guarantee is 79 hours (short call) and 75 (long call). I was looking at their retirement, doesn't seem like they have real high A or B fund contributions (compared to AMR) so hopefully that status doesn't play against us (DB vs DC in the eyes of an arbitrator). If allowed to happen, I am convinced the 2000 and on hires will get hammered (both sides this time).
As far as I am concerned, if DAL wants to tap into the west coast markets, I think that flying would be better done by Delta pilots. I think we have a fairly weak presence out west compared to JBLU, SWA, UAL and AA. Expansion is a better option for us than another SLI. At least NWA brought 3 billion and a profitable structure at $100/barrel, AS is struggling right now at $78/barrel. |

Old base. Hmmm. SEA wasn't a pilot base at Delta, PDX was. So I am guessing DFW, with MD90s. We still have plenty of Platinum Medallion people living in the Metroplex, and the MD90 can hit every corner of the US from DFW. We will have bases in every corner doing international flights eventually, so DFW seems like a logical choice.
DL had SEA as a 727 base, I was hired in Aug 91 and flew out of there as a flight engineer for my first few months. Cannot remember when it closed but it was sometime in the early 90's. |

I understand the "no route overlap" argument. Heck, I live in Seattle!! I'm just not so sure the current administration would buy the "no reduction of competition" argument since Alaska code shares with other carriers.................like American.

Yeah, Denny corrected me on that. I still think DFW will be the "resumed" base, although SEA ER could be announced here too. We actually still have a SEA base, on the A330 now. So, SEA wouldn't be a "new" base, since we have one there now.

Ratio them in according to equipment/pay, fence SEA off for a while and go from there. Oh, and while we're at it- new JPWA with some improvements. Keep the pay and rules coming back... What is the roberts deal? And how does this ratio work? Our #1 73NA pilot is #134 (a 1979 hire), our #1 73NB pilot is #3243 (a 1989 hire). So does that mean their #1 73A pilot would be equal to #134 or a 1979 hire and their 73B would be a 1989 hire and you ratio from there? Or is it more like where a median of 73N pilots are on our list and then you move from there? --- FWIW everybody: AS has bases in ANC, SEA and LAX. AS has 82 73Ns, 34 73 Classic 400s. AS has 1455 pilots, 106 are on furlough and 2006 is their most junior pilot (we have 1165 pilots junior to our most senior 2007 hire). AS pays a 75 hour guarantee and split their long call and short call with the later making 79 hours. AS FO starting salary is $46/hr, 12 year CA salary is $172/hr. |
