The captains at Delta North refuse to do a walk around at all cost. They will gladly do both pilots' pre-flight work in the cockpit, but will not go outside if their life depended on it. My understanding is that it is kind of an unwritten rule at Delta South to go every other leg.
We are not every other leg yet, but I'd like to remind you that's how we did it at TWA, and look what happened to them :D |

I have seen guys raise questions about this issue - I have raised them myself. I have never seen anyone say "All Comair Pilots are culpable on this issue." I would be interested in reading that. Could you please cut and paste the quote or give us a post number. Thanks Scoop

Any guys like this wonder why there has been an extremely very few number of Comair guys hired since DAL exited bankruptcy. Sorry, but you guys bit the hand that feeds you. :(
No, "you guys bit the hand". Therefore all Comair pilots are culpable.

Those bad apples were allowed not just to exist, but to contaminate the entire load of apples. You can't have a guy like Lawson remain in power with impunity ...Worse yet, you guys quietly funded the RJDC, thinking that it would be sufficient to paint Ford as a weirdo if anyone asked.
At any rate, the Delta pilots have spent their last effort on the Comair pilots during the strike. The dollars to the RJDC, the lawsuit, the "no-hiring" letter, all served to make sure nothing of the sort will happen again. For better or worse, the Comair/ASA pilots have demonstarted on multiple occasion that they were willing (either through apathy or outright support) to see their wagon hitched to the adverserial strategies of Lawson and Ford...

If you read my post closely you see I refer to the Comair Pilot Union not the Comair Pilots, although to a degree they are one and the same...
Finally, we should remember Pilots are individuals and should be treated as such. Obviously any Comair pilots who were not on the property at the time have no culpability whatsoever. To the Comair guys who were there I would ask “How do you feel about the whole situation?” Who spoke up against this policy and what attempts were made to have it stopped? Scoop If the pilots hired afterward have no culpability, then one could infer that the pilots who were on property at the time were culpable.

True, but let me ask you this....If your partner $hits the bed and you knowingly hop in, can you really complain when you get poo on you?
Anyone who wants to get on with Delta knows full well their odds go to almost nill if they fly for Comair. There's also a post from the COMAIR-JC LAWSON thread over on the regionals page. See post #13, DAL4EVER tells us "Their silence leads one to think they all condoned this" For what it's worth, comparisons of all Comair pilots... biting the hand that feeds them... being hitched to Lawson... covered in crap because Lawson crapped the bed... being apples contaminated from Lawson... indicates that some hold the entire pilot group culpable in Lawson's letter. All I wanted to get across was that the Comair pilot group could not counter Lawson's damage any more than today's Delta pilot group can counter LM's statements during the Compass roadshows. |

How about this:
In the interest of not having 25 pages devoted to this topic of Comair Vs Delta and who is flinging poo; can we all stop and have a kumbaya moment while we read an excerpt from the Peace Pipe by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow: "O my children! my poor children! Listen to the words of wisdom, Listen to the words of warning, From the lips of the Great Spirit, From the Master of Life, who made you! "I have given you lands to hunt in, I have given you streams to fish in, I have given you bear and bison, I have given you roe and reindeer, I have given you brant and beaver, Filled the marshes full of wild-fowl, Filled the rivers full of fishes: Why then are you not contented? Why then will you hunt each other? "I am weary of your quarrels, Weary of your wars and bloodshed, Weary of your prayers for vengeance, Of your wranglings and dissensions; All your strength is in your union, All your danger is in discord; Therefore be at peace henceforward, And as brothers live together. I know it is a rare moment but feel the tranquility rush over us all. Ahhhhhhhhhh. :) Now back to those pretty pictures of those gators...give me more. I'll take a good looking Reb, Trojan, Spartan, Tarheel, Nittany Lion, etc.... Show em if you got em. :D |
Fact is that the people that are in charge of hiring here do not give two hoots about any of it. They did not care about what GoJets did to TSA, they also do not care what OH did to the DAL pilots. They knew about it, but cannot and will not make the politics of the unions the determining factor on if a person gets hired.
As it was told to me, it is illegal to even think about, much less talk about or not hire someone due to these issues. Last round there were plenty (10 or so) OH pilots hired. Many did not pass the interview, but it was because of them, no OH's and the OH MEC's policies or the last ten years. You will never get anyone to ever admit otherwise. |
