Post script: I was at the White House the night this incident occurred and there were A LOT of discussions about the possibility of a missile strike. It was deemed not politically prudent to open that can if worms during a reelection campaign. I, for one, never bought the NTSB results because I heard and saw a lot of the back and forth with Clinton.

There's a great book written by Jack Cashill that documents all of the behind the scenes stuff.

Buzz, the IRS audit team must have you on speed dial. :D

Best-selling Twin Cities author Vince Flynn dies of cancer at 47

For those of you who have enjoyed his books while on the road. Too sad, he was pretty young.

Damn! Thought he had beaten it. My favorite author. Flew with a 320 fo in msp that I believe went to high school, college or both with him. Sounded like a great guy. RIP Mr Flynn.

On another semi related note: I had an NTSB bomb expert on my jumpseat many years ago and he debunked all the conspiracy theories on TWA 800. They had most of the pieces of the jet and it was an internal explosion beyond any doubt. He had pictures of the outward force of the blast and the general location of the origin, the fuel tank.
What I like about APC is the range of subjects brought up, I just wish Slow, Alpha, and PG would show back up to prevent the very one sided views that are dominating the landscape. I enjoyed both sides of the debate.

any more info on the -88 and the hail storm? I looked on the FAA's prelim incident website and see the -88 vs. the light pole incident but nothing about any hail storm. I figured it would be on there by now if it was that bad.

I also wish they were still here.

Those guys along with sailingfun and most of the other union people have pretty much gone radio silent after this most recent "last" displacement bid came out and the news about the latest scope waiver thing.

I will keep Slows , Alpha and Sailings seat warm... albeit out of seniority. I thought about a new avatar named Purple Drunk. But I'm afraid that'd cause confusion. So I thought 60ktsclamp. Still confusing I'm sure although correct. Or CarlSpanker but that'd make some think I'm one that would yell JOHN WAYNE but Ryan Seacrest!

Its tough. But even though I can't figure out a name, I have the right pic and I think for fun I can make their arguments for them.

That and the board started calling them out on their BS.

The truth is going to be one sided.

Haven't read any of his books, but will definitely pick one up soon.

USA obit
Flynn was working in sales and commercial real estate 20 years ago when he began reading voraciously in an effort to conquer his childhood dyslexia. In the process he fell in love with espionage novels and decided to try writing one himself.
His first book, Term Limits, was self-published in 1997 after Flynn received 60 rejection letters. After its immediate success, an agent signed him.
