Simple question Bar. What if I as a DPA supporter wanted to help my cause along by hacking into ALPA national's website, redirect it to a fake site that denigrated ALPA, then disconnected the funding link to the ALPA PAC. Would you argue to ALPA that they shouldn't investigate it because old Carl might get in legal trouble?

The question is rhetorical because there's no possibility you'd defend my actions. Like I've told you many times before, your outrage is fake, selective, and highly partisan.

Carl

I'm questioning whether there actually was a "hacker" at all. You guys howl about transparency. Show me the evidence. Until then I'll be left to wonder if this is a publicity stunt.

It's the victim's fault?

Dude, just stop.

(1) If you knew taking this action would be viewed as inappropriate, why did you do it?

(2) Do you suggest we report violations we observe pilots making to that other enforcement agency, the FAA? Hey, first reporters often get immunity ... must be great to protect your career the DPA way.

(3) There is absolutely no evidence, or even credible suggestion, that anyone was working for the Delta Pilot Network or Pilot 2 Pilot (which as far as I know are the so called "Special Committee")

Not an ALPA supporter by any stretch, but I have a hard time finding this credible:

Well, it's always your choice to decide credibility. But this is very close to what I'm hearing. DPA was able to track it back to a time and place that implicated a very small number of people. The people involved in the hacking found out about how close DPA was getting in their investigation, and realized the FBI would be able to easily take it the rest of the way. The people involved in the hacking then called DPA to try and reach a deal not to take this investigation any further. So far, a public apology is something the people involved won't do.

Everyone will have to make their own call on credibility.

Carl

But if they call Tim Caplinger, they had better use a pay phone in a town they've never been to.

So let me get this straight DPA has this down to a few pilots instead of reaching out to these pilots they turn it over to the FBI. How about a phone call to these guys with a simple cease and desist from TC or one of the other leaders. If you were able to narrow it down to pilots on layovers in ATL you could surely figure out how to reach them. A simple phone call stating that if this continues they will turn this over to the authorities would have stopped this.

Funny thing is TC had his but saved by the same organization he now vilifies. Can't wait to see how DPA handles a pilot who gets in trouble with management.

When the FBI tracks down who actually did this - probably a group of 14-year old boys at a slumber party - the "scourge" calling themselves DPA need to make a public apology to all Delta pilots & ALPA.

Why this organization, who makes unfounded accusations, has 5000 cards is beyond me?

Bucking Bar 11-18-2013 06:56 PM

What makes me mad is the idea of an Atlanta layover  ... What the Hell?

We have a pilot base in Atlanta! Who's stealing our flyin' ? You Yankees need to stay where you belong.
