Delta to hire 225 new flight attendants this fall

Delta will hire 225 new flight attendants this fall as it begins preparing staffing levels for 2014. While more flight attendants will be hired next year as well, In-Flight Service leaders decided to begin the process early to spread out demand at the Atlanta Training Center as well as provide greater flexibility to handle new mainline flying.

The new hires will not be part of Delta’s Language of Destination program for foreign language speakers and will come from an existing pool of competitive applicants who applied or were referred for flight attendant positions during the open application window earlier this year. The positions will not be reposted on eBid or delta.com, and IFS will not be requesting referrals.

“It’s always exciting to announce flight attendant hiring because it means we’re all doing our part to create a prosperous, growing airline,” Joanne Smith, s.v.p.-IFS, said in a memo today. “Stay tuned for an additional 2014 hiring announcement later this summer.”

 

I have a great sense of humor, but it only runs so far. Gj was OK in what he said, and while you seem to question his sense of humor, I would rather you question Carls motive, but like I said, I ain't holding my breath... mr moderator

 

And you really find the whole gay community organization acronym confusing in regard to an airline pilot's pay system. really? Maybe you shouldn't be flying airplanes.

Carl was playing off a 777 captain's confusion of it earlier in the week. You kept typing it as LGB or LGBP (can't remember which) for several days in a row. It was a pretty easy connection and pretty dang funny.

 

I didn't think hie "joke" was all that funny. Hopefully Carl doesn't quit his day job... or maybe he should, then you could move up a number.

 

Not really. It's a serious issue, and if you choose to make light of it by connecting it to a gay lesbian community acronym, then you need to grow up a little. But then again, I apparently don't care about your situation.. right? Carl cares because he talks the talk.. (Got news for ya) Carl wants to make sure that he is always at the top of the heap... pay wise. (Bigger has to pay more because of all that responsibility crap) I am looking at a system that would put more money in YOUR pocket. But by all means, justify his little "joke", and keep on keepin on.
