If I paid a couple thousand $$ for a seat, I'd be ****ed if some lazy slacker employee lounged out next to me in shorts or jeans. And sorry, folks ARE going to decide who you are and label you based on your clothes. I recommend not wearing a hoody either. If you don't own a pair of slacks that are as comfortable as jeans, go splurge at WalMart with $15 and buy a pair.

I'm pretty sure one of the Delta hiring interview make-or-break questions was, "If we didn't specify a dress code, which would you show up wearing to non rev: jeans and a t-shirt, or business slacks and a collared dress shirt?" Really, pretty sure that was one of them. If I remember wrong...it should be.

So my $200 custom fit AG jeans from Nordstrom would be inferior to $15 slacks from Walmart in 1st class?

Sure I have. But that guy isn't US. We're flying for free, and we're the hired help eating at the count's table in this scenario. Holy cr ap, just shave off the soul patch, put on shoes with laces, and put on your big boy slacks and shirt and look above average for your free ride. It's 1000 times less hassle than wearing the hat and 100 times more obvious. And guess what, no one but you and some fashionistas on Bravo channel knows your jeans are $200, everyone else sees "jeans".
;)
no disrespect intended, but some questions just don't need to be asked or pressed-to-test when you're no longer working as a cashier for McD's. Hrmmm, it's like this: you can wear your uniform hat a zillion times and build a hundred bridges, but if you once show up dressed like a teenager for non-rev or screw one goat, you're a goat-f*cker.

I'm pretty sure that's how that saying goes, at least that's how we interpreted it in the mil. ;)

Exactly! It's chaos...totally unpredictable.

In the ATL 320B category it is a mess. It is not a matter of senior guys bidding reserve. It looks like a case of Garbage in, Garbage out with the combination of trip construction, bid package construction, and an ALV that should not have been set at 84.

June projected line count was 50 actual was 49
July projected line count was 53 actual was 53
August projected line count was 51 actual was 45

One of the reasons that they missed more than normal was that 304:51 was left in open time. Enough time to create at least 4 more regular lines if it was not all stacked up in the first 10 days of the month. Someone really let this month get screwed up...

Hopefully ALPA will attempt to hold them accountable for such lousy work, and not just help the company make exscuses for this.

Have you looked back to see what your passengers in First are wearing these days??? The wife and I non-revved in first down to the islands last month. I was wearing shorts, flip-flops, and a button down short sleeve shirt. Compared to the rest of the cabin I was grossly overdressed...

This is why I asked. I'm happy to wear slacks if it means not ruffling feathers. BTW, when I reference slacks, I'm referring to the lower half of a suit (that type of fabric). I'm not one for khakis, which is what I'm guessing was referenced as available at Walmart for $15. I envision what I usually see in first, and would certainly look no worse than the avg. paying passenger.

Thanks for the comments. Seems slacks are the wise, albeit uncomfortable choice.

lol there you go, finally a good sense of humor! ;)

MWright, you remained steely-eyed and calm even though I was hoping someone would bite off on the goat-f*cker comment ;) So as a lot of guys have pointed out, you can get by with neat/clean/casual. But it's indeed wise to be prepared and dressed for the jumpseat, I've been within 1 seat of needing it on every single flight I've hopped for months. We're almost always chock full now.
