We call it TDU on the fifi fleet... does it default to line 2 for the runway desired for yall? I've found that typically gives a couple thousand pounds of pad on the weights, and the process saves me 25-30 key strokes.
My technique to keep engaged: I press print, write down pax and zfw directly from the acars screen, then go straight to the perf page, verify the correct ZFW (and ZFWCG on fifi) and calculate current actual weight. I write that down- by that time the printer is finally finished, I glance at the weights on line 2 for the desired runway, make sure that's good and dive over to the TDU and insert it. That way all the info is in, I've reviewed it, and the data is ready and waiting for the captain to verify it. |
I went backdooring (PBS wise you filthy bastards) and nothing. What new PBS algorithm are you talking about? Did something change?

Wow, the new PBS topdown algorithm seems to have TOTALLY boofed me! I kid you not, what has worked very well for years this time worked... but didn't. It gave me everything I asked for but did it by saying immediately "Ok, here's the four worst trips in the bidpack... AWARD TRIPS. Weekends off honored, AvDaily credit/Redeye/min-layover not honored. It had a interesting note that it's 50 per month until early 14' then 20 per month but that is likely to change according to SD. I assume this can only mean that more than 300 are likely. Good Luck everyone, Delta is head and shoulders the best of the 4 airlines I have worked for! As a side note my buddy at Compass MEC said Delta told them 115 on Friday. Don't quote me but that seems a little high as if I recall the max was 25% of the list on any given 12 months based on the seniority list as of Aug 2010. I don't believe in Aug. 2010 we had 460 pilots. Something to watch. I sure hope Delta brings in a good mix of Military guys/gals. Even though I was civilian it sure was nice to have the wide spectrum of ideas and experiences. CPZ has 446 pilots on the July 2013 list (451 on the April 2013 list). The July bid packet has 441 pilots listed (Management pilots are not in the bid packet), 216 Captains and 225 FO's. |

Airtrain to Federal Circle, stay to the right and there are a couple vans parked there that go to the cargo area. |

Yep, defaults to 2nd line. Your technique sounds good, and is about what I ended up doing. We probably just got unlucky with multiple RWY changes and overweight for several. I did talk to some fifi guys and mentioned we had this... they were all unimpressed, "ho hummm, zis is zumting ve has for soooo long.... Retard, retard, retard!"
The whole TDU thing is actually derived from what NW used to do pre-merger. |
