It's true, I do use ALPA as a punching bag. And they've earned it. But ALPA isn't the disease, it's a symptom. It's a symptom of a complacent, risk-averse, and disinterested pilot group that's unwilling or unable to realize how much influence our money will have if we keep it within our pilot group (and cut off the fat cats and moochers at ALPA). At my advanced age my memory is fading but I do believe Fed Ex voted ALPA out and then found out how much a independent union really costs. I do believe they voted ALPA back in. If I'm wrong with my history I stand by my bad memory. |

Just an aside, 73N guys, the new WDR Data Link upload thing rocks.
Carry on. |
Purple's ideology is doom, despair, and agony. He's miserable. And if he's miserable, you should better be miserable too. But no matter how comfortable he is in his black cloud (or "spectrum"), I do not have to join him in his rage. That doesn't make me or anyone else complacent, lazy, disinterested, . It may just mean we have a life outside DAL. We may even just be balanced and reasonably content human beings with a different perspective.
BTW, his contribution is always negative. I have much more respect for the worst ALPA or DPA volunteer there is. They at least are doing something. Throwing poo from the computer isn't hard work (even if it is fun). |

What will change with DPA, IAM, IBEW or even the UAW if the Delta pilot group is still composed of "complacent, risk-averse and disinterested pilots"? That's why your logic fails. Do you really think that Delta Air Lines Inc gives a flying leap who represents us? Nope. We work in an industry governed by the RLA. No union can give us more "influence". |

No real knowledge but hopefully there was a glitch of some sort- I'm at 60% A320 NYC and was forced to reserve. No conditional anything, just no rotations to be had. 40% reserve in August sounds a bit crazy.
Fingers crossed that the new awards are better. |

Some backdoor B's and A's are out again.
Wow, the new PBS topdown algorithm seems to have TOTALLY boofed me! I kid you not, what has worked very well for years this time worked... but didn't. It gave me everything I asked for but did it by saying immediately "Ok, here's the four worst trips in the bidpack... AWARD TRIPS. Weekends off honored, AvDaily credit/Redeye/min-layover not honored. Here's your 16 hr 4-day redeyes...WhaaaaaBAM! I'm going to have to about triple my PBS algorithm lines it seems, and line by line "award... avoid...but award THIS while avoiding ABC..." Gah. I hope this is just an interim version I'm seeing, and it gets re-run for me again! |
