Compass requirements are identical to delta minimums, so if you made it to compass, you already are qualified to go to delta.

If so, then why are there Compass pilots without a degree? You know there are if you work there.
Probably about 10-15 without it out of ~250. |
Glad I'm not commuting to LGA tonite....it's gonna be a mess for awhile.
Sounds like no major injuries...good. |

Delta will benefit greatly from the new blood that will soon be interjected into their ranks.
FYI - hockey is not former Compass. |

I know there are quite a few Delta Pilots without degrees. I still think the flows should be held accountable to the highest standards, in the interview and probationary year. TEN PS. If there is a so-called pilot shortage looming, believe me, the standards will be dropped or flying will be outsourced. I think back in the '60s UAL was hiring no time pilots. |

I'm looking forward to a day when we have more pilots voting who understand and care about scope sales. I welcome the fresh blood in that regard. Also, maybe the flows will bring us guys who don't just read the printed materials and rubber stamp this stuff through base on propaganda. Less bobble heads.

Prior to the merger, compass pilots were hired to NWA qualifications, now to Delta standards. That seems very reasonable, I don't see where the hostility comes from. I'm not attempting to spread half truths, and the extreme few without a degree, if there are any still, are competent pilots. I would have no problem putting my family on a compass airplane. I've flown with dozens of captains and I never felt unsafe. I also never pretended to be so superior to my peers as to ask for a diploma to verify their credentials. I may be mistaken, but you are a former compass captain (no disrespect if I'm incorrect in this assumption). If so then you should know that the qualifications to perform as a great captain (the position delta is hiring for) is nearly unrelated to the place of your collegiate beer drinking activities. Compass seats are filled with young guns, military jocks, and experienced ole' timers. Delta will benefit greatly from the new blood that will soon be interjected into their ranks.
