I'm on the Delta Air Lines seniority list.

A certain amount of Compass/XJ/9E pilots will be on the Delta Air Lines seniority list soon. (Based on previous agreements arranged by our/their airline management.)

Do I think your question of whether their test was the exact same test you took is egregious? No. I think it lacks a little class, because at this point, what's done is done, & I'm looking forward to not being considered a new-hire anymore. (After five years at the company.) :D

Flew with a Capt a few weeks ago who commented he was on his 8th airline from 1 interview

ALPA, you mean the union that without their negotiations with Northwest you would have had a snowball's chance in hell of coming over to mainline in 2010? that ALPA? ALPA may not be perfect but man you are a piece of work with your gratitude.

Is purple a flow? I thought a while back he said he was PMDL.

Btw, what's the hold up on ATL M88A's?

CheapTrick 07-15-2013 07:05 AM

Purple is a flow? That changes my mind on flow. No flo, no mo.

I dont want this to get turned the wrong way, it was about purple crank and thats it.....no one else.

CheapTrick 07-15-2013 07:27 AM

And my point is one Purple is more than enough. A 4 day with him would have me on Prozac and suicide watch. Debbie Downer X 10.

Eventually you'll step outside the echo chamber and get a wind check.

That is some funny stuff right there, coming from the "Latest and Greatest" thread. I have stepped away from this echo chamber and only check it when something "interesting" has happened at Delta, like Friday's hiring announcement. In general this place has grown more useless than the DALPA forum, with the same guys repeating the same drivel. I believe you'll agree that the number and variety of posters here has declined dramatically. Occasionally it still provides entertainment, like Check Essential posting we won't hire minutes before hiring is announced. Or FtB mathematically "proving" that mainline won't grow when the fleet plan is on Delta Net. Or 80 claiming his childhood as airline experience.

You call my post dishonest spin. I quoted you and linked back to your original post. It doesn't take "legions" to do what you claimed in your response you meant. I'll leave it for the other readers to judge your words; I know what they meant to me and you received a response. BTW, the current MEC has 11 or 12 of the voting reps with a straight CIV background. We're already where you hope to go.

No need to waste ammo firing inside the circle.

Again, an interesting perspective. When I quote and link your post it's dishonest spin and shooting inside the circle. When you post, it's pure and for reform?

It's unfortunate that when pointed out your words made you uncomfortable. I've had several posts like that (particularly aimed at BuzzPat) which I regret making. I also fully believe that you want the best for our careers. But I don't believe your rhetoric helps get us there. I'll address your PCL comments in another post.

I hear you about purple but I'm confident that most of all the other pilots in the flow are nothing like him.

As the Pinnacle debacle is understood by express pilots as the cause of their concessions it will be very difficult for the leadership who authorized that bargaining to remain in power.

What would you have had ALPA, Wychor et. al. do? Does PCL ALPA have a responsibility to their 2600 constituents, or just to your view of how things should have played out? Remember CMR had just been shut down. PCL liquidation was a distinct possibility. American Eagle's future was uncertain. Longevity created a huge labor arbitrage across the regional spectrum. The competitive set was $74 hr Captains at Compass and $66 hr guys at GoJet. That's where they're at now.

Should PCL just have "taken one for the team"? Is that how you'd feel about your job when faced with the realities that they were facing? Note that UCAL didn't even hiccup when Colgan's Q400's went away.

So I reject your premise that PCL bargaining was the cause of their concessions. Their duty to represent their constituents and economic reality caused it. But no doubt you're correct that, like you, many will blame ALPA for it.
