Wall Street seems to be happy with our 2nd quarter. Stock up 5% in early trading.

Delta Air Lines sees FY13 to be one of Delta's most profitable years - Yahoo! Finance
Awesome! They will easily be able to afford our 3% raise for the year then. |

Technically, Delta is a speculator. The only claim Delta has to being a bona fide hedger is the Trainer operation. Since there is no robust jet fuel futures market (if there's a market at all, I've never been able to find one), Delta has to speculate on a mix of crude oil, unleaded gasoline, heating oil, etc. to synthesize a "hedge" on jet fuel. But, since Delta doesn't consume/produce any of those products outside of Trainer, it is a speculator in those markets.
http://www.leutholdfunds.com/sites/d...2012-12-20.png With the Renewable Energy Credits now causing a whole host of problems ( E85 - yeauuch ) wonder how well we could run on some veggie oil? I vote Carl's fleet as the Guinea Pig. It has extra engines and extra tanks. Either that or the aft fan turboprop, owned by somebody else, B-717. I'd gladly replace the smell of jet fuel with French Fries (we used to have a neighbor who ran his Benz on recycled grease from McDonald's and it smelled, well, like lunchtime) Who knows if we can vertically integrate our way around Wall Street speculators who are intent to profit from commodities they have zero interest in consuming ... . Want to hear something funny, searched Renewable Energy Credits on the EPA site ... they laud that commoditizing credits "adds price stability" .... yeah right. |
I noticed that now that we are on the brink of hitting the magical $10B in debt, they have moved the goal posts again to $7B by 2017.

With Delta giving a dividend next quarter, and our inability to buy Delta stock for our 401K, but with that stock already in the 401K from the merger, can we use the dividend to reinvest in Delta or can we only take the cash?

It stands to reason, if we start overflying Japan we are going to need metal and pilots to fly more block hours. Taken at face value, Alaska airlines provides the feed for a continuing build of Seattle's long haul flying. |

Wasn't the goal of Trainer not to turn a traditional profit but rather to lower the crack spread?

Check with your Captain. Sometimes these rotations have the same confirmation number. If the other crewmember uses it, then you can't.
I've not found a way to unscrew this when it happens. Gate Agents can move you, but some think that they are not supposed to. 1) Go to Travelnet and add your name. When you take that PNR Delta.com will now recognize your name as attached to the reservation or, 2) Use their last name with the PNR and find the reservation. When you do there should be two seats assigned to that PNR and you "may" be able to add yourself this way. In my experience the best way to fix this is to go to travenet and add your name to the PNR. It then associates you with the reservation. Just make sure you are moving the correct seat when you are on Delta.com. You boss may not be too happy if you move him to a middle seat. :D This has worked for me every time. |
