BUT...if, in the interview they had told me, "Well, you MUST live in ATL, no commuting, and we are going to close BOS and MIA." I would have gotten up and left and gone to my 3rd round of interviews at American, who by the way, still has both a MIA and BOS base (and DFW and ORD, like Delta had back then) and who still have their retirements!

I'm glad you're here.

I would also submit that you checked the box that asked if you were willing to relocate when you applied.

The problem with you is that you don't care if someone had to walk to school both ways in 8 foot snowdrifts. MY point was that I have been in your shoes, I made it work without a commuting policy, and we have made enough dispensation for commuters in our contract, IMO.

Seeing the world through "their" eyes only has burned the Delta pilots more than once. Some people never learn I guess.

As for say in the matter, I have as much as you. You instruct your reps and I will instruct mine. Expressing my sorrow was indicative that I understood your plight and felt your pain, yet arrive at a different conclusion.

I no longer carry that sympathy for you. Perhaps we may get something for getting RID of the commuter clause. Maybe that needs some costing/negotiating/changing. You would do better to keep silent on the issue, for you do not help your cause with the sleeper cells on here. Somehow I think you won't heed that advice.

So did you check the willing to relocate box?
I was going to post something this am against brakechatters opinion but deleted it as not worth the dissension. Now I wish I had. ALPA constantly trades capital to advance senior or junior positions. The point is to improve the profession both QOL and pay. Over 50% of delta pilots commute. The junior half can't afford to move and be displaced yearly-- remaining married is part of life too.

Rarely do I read a post from someone and think "THAT guy is someone I would never want to fly with or have in my unit". I'd be ok with purple or slowplay or Carl or sailing or alfaromeo. Something about this guys attitude at least as he comes across here is just so... Non-goodguy. Seems intelligent and is entitled to his fairly well conveyed opinion, I just wonder if he knows how anti-dude he comes across. Man I hope he isn't associated with ALPA.

You don't get to tell me who to put on my ignore list. I will make you happy, however, and move on with only visiting every once and awhile and let you guys have your anonymous gang, giving drive-bys to anyone who disagrees with you, and then flaming further when they don't take your anonymous crap. Let's see you man up and take it to the DALPA board.

Is Delta keeping the AT registration on the 717? I shook hands Jimmy Carter once... Wait, I was strapped in, in the last row of coach, pretending I was invisible.

Off Topic:

Anyone have experience with the Dish Network or DirecTV discounts on DeltaNet?

We're currently using the local Cable TV/Internet provide, and coincidentally "FED UP" with the service at the same time.

Just curious as to other people's experience with the satellite providers, and if you've used the Delta discounts on DeltaNet.

Thanks,

GJ

Type FMLA into the seach bar on deltanet and the forms are the first two that pop up. Wife just had our 2nd boy.
