Good thing that bigger pays more, right?

Airbus comes to Alabama
First deliveries for the 321 are in 1Q 2016. Looks like we could be the initial delivery customer from Alabama.

Edit: OK, maybe second customer.

JetBlue Airways CEO and President David Barger gave his perspective on how Airbus’ $600 million investment in the new Alabama industrial site is viewed by its U.S. customers: “It demonstrates the level of Airbus’ commitment of being close to its important American operator base for A320 aircraft.” He also announced that JetBlue will receive the very first A320 from the Mobile final assembly line – which is targeted for delivery in 2016.

I'd like to see the 321 pay at least $1 more than any version of a 737.

In other news, fleet planning manager says today's order is growth with the usual caveats about economic downturns, northern hemisphere becoming uninhabitable due to Fukishima, Grace Ross & Rosie becoming President, etc ....

So you are actually proposing that we should favor a lower pay rate for a given fleet on the off chance that we merge with another company that has that fleet as well, and the SL arbitrators are somehow cowed into accepting the fact that a similar pay rate makes two fleets similar in terms of desirability/QOL to pilots?

I just don't follow your logic in this case, and my answer is "Yes, I would love to see the 737-9 and A-321 pay the same as a 767."

I'm not proposing anything. I'm simply asking a question. I'm trying to start a discussion. Stimulate thought if you will. I'm not stating my opinion one way or the other.

My question is, is there a possibility that if DALPA were consider the the 737-900ER equal to the 767-300ER could that be a disadvantage to us in an arbitrated ISL integration? I'm not sure how the arbitrator would have to be cowed into anything. Is QOL one of the factors used in the ALPA merger policy? What about desirability? The arbitrators didn't buy that the 744 was any more desirable then the 777. NWA tried to convince them the "Super Premium" WB flying was somehow better. It didn't work.

As I said earlier, I'm simply trying to create a discussion.

And yes I know the 737-900ER pays less. So let's talk about that.

Ask yourself folks, would you want the A321/739 to pay equal to a B767-300 if it meant it could give another pilot group who does NOT have WB jets a WB argument?

IOW, if we merge with say....Alaska.....could an arbitrator consider a 737-900 the same as a B767? I mean, if Delta ALPA considers a 737-900ER equal to a 767-300ER, then what does that do for us in an arbitrated ISL situation?
^^ brilliant. Glad you are on our side.

In other news from the United/Continental merger threads, here's another example of an ungrateful hater hoping for an independent union.

And I really can't wait to kick Delta's ass.
Why is ALPA so misunderstood by so many people?

UAL only has like 120 777/747/787s. How can this kick our tails?

Penalty, 15 yards, carrying the ball while performing overly enthusiastic cheerleading; implying 100% growth then backpedalling; ignoring release word indicators such as "capacity" and "renewal" with a "there's no good reason this COULDN'T be pure growth!"; playing with non-approved rose-colored visor shield, and roughing the poster, penalty against Company Cheer Team, 1st down for Cautiously Optimistic Previously Burned.
