Yes, we are hourly employees on shift work.

Does not answer the question but you can read some fascinating statistics.

Are you serious? You get a guarantee against your hourly rate, with additional pay when said minimum has been reached. How you manage to construe that as "salaried " is beyond me.

No you don't. You can drop your line down to blank and have no reprucussions from the company.

They don't list "salaries"in the PWA, they list HOURLY RATES OF PAY.

To argue against the obvious makes folks take your arguments as spin instead of objective.

Very well. You guys win. It was a stupid way to spin it. I'm proceeding to the corner of my living room with DUNCE hat in hand. Feels like I was just cornered by a pack of rabid wolverines. :) I personally like the system we have. It gives us flexibility. You get paid more for the extra work you do. If you want to not work, you can. Like Clamp said, you can drop your schedule to zero if you choose to. Not sure why anyone would complain about that. Imagine having to put in 60 hours per week for 40 hours pay.

J, it's obvious that you are content with the contract we have, that said, try to think of it from a point of view of before you were hired. I'm glad you are happy with what we have, but lots chose to fight for restoration. Since you were hired you have seen nothing but gains, most of us saw devastating give backs. I come to this conclusion from reading a multitude of your posts. Nothing personal, but if you are content with what we have, don't get in the way of restoration. There was a Delta before you, and me.

SK

I have never said I don't WANT restoration. C2K plus inflation would be fantastic. I would absolutely LOVE to make that money. But until USAPA gets their act together, I believe that restoration is not obtainable. The Us Air contract is an anchor on this profession. I also don't believe any representation is capable of restoration in 1 or 2 contracts. I realize the money Delta is making. But as long as management can look at the NMB and point to Us Air's contract, it won't happen. And I haven't said I don't want to fight for it either. We need the AA/UsAir merger to happen. If it goes through, we have a much better chance at restoration.

What with all the mainline activity on C and D concourses in Mecca? I've been either in or out of one or both several times the pat two trips...not complaining its actually a nice change of scenery and food choice (both have a Five Guys) plus I can justify riding the plane train!
Just odd to have so many flights there.

I'm sorry, but that's not really true.

One can only drop trips/reserve days if reserve coverage is adequate, which, of course, is almost never in the summer and other key periods throughout the year (at least in my category).

Yes, I'm aware of that. I'd hope every pilot at Delta knows that. Obviously, there has to adequate coverage to drop a trip or days. And if you want to direct this at someone, why don't you go after the participant who originally posted it?

You should obviously know you are a hourly employee as a pilot, unless of course you are management and thence salaried. Which one are you?

FL370,

I'm a regular line pilot. I already admitted I was wrong WRT the salary debate. Why do you feel the need to go on with it? You don't like ALPA. I don't like DPA. I won't change your opinion, and you won't change mine. So can we please keep things civil?

In my category if I put my trips on the ptp swap board as a drop, they'd all be gone in less than 20 minutes.

Yikes. That's crazy!

Anyone know if we have received gates from SWA. Isn't AT being pulled down in ATL?
