Despite your delusions to the contrary, we are not salaried white-collar executives.

Clueless as usual you are. Look to your next paycheck, nothing further.

Are you serious? You get a guarantee against your hourly rate, with additional pay when said minimum has been reached. How you manage to construe that as "salaried " is beyond me.

You can spin it as being salaried, but since I started the discussion by telling Manager... uh.. Purple.. to stop thinking like an hourly worker... so I must interject.

My point is that as long as you look forward to your next paycheck with zero thought about the long term ramifications of your investments and how our contracts will affect us long term, you are thinking like an hourly worker. When we all retire, we are by default, investment class as opposed to working class. The sooner that cluebird comes home to roost, the sooner you will become financially independent.

And since reserve pilots are working for ALV-2 hours/month, regardless of the numbers of hours worked (until "overtime" kicks in) you are essentially a salaried employee. Neither of us said anything remotely intimating "executive" level employees.

I tried that but nobody seems to want 5 day non-commutable trips worth 29 hours that start on Thursday.

If they still were KBP layovers I'd take 'em....

If ever there were a reason to be an airline pilot, that was one of them.

Now why do I look this way? Because I thought, like most of the ALPA guys, that there were only about 10 people who read apcf.

Okay, get this, about once or twice a week I manage to make not only my own wife mad at me but somebody else's wife mad at me. Then there are the days I make 3 of them mad at me.

Let me see if I can fix at least one of the three...

The last trip I did was basically a 5 day LAX trip.

SLC-LAX-SLC-LAX
Layover
LAX-GDL
Layover
GDL-LAX
Layover
LAX-PVR-LAX
Layover
LAX-LAS-SLC

29 hours. Nobody in SLC would ever pick that up off the swap board. About the only thing you can pawn off is a good 1-3 day trip. Anything else just sits there.

I was listening to that guard debate myself, we both got a good laugh out of the "guard police" guys, but neither of us had ever met or seen anyone actually BEING the guard police, we thought it was someone at the NSA with no life or sense of humor.

"Operations, this is Delta 1690 down checking on our gate" (on guard)...
"Delta 1690, your gate is changed but hold your present position, or no wait, hehe, contact ground and ask them to make a loop and call us back when you're done"

Ok, really, that's pretty funny there when you hear it, especially if you know it's a SWA guy or Virgin guy replying on guard... there's always enough pile-ons and "on guard! You're on GUARD OMG for the love of all that's holy, get off guard!!!" to ensure the poor guy doesn't get in trouble.

Quite the Delta vs RJ banter on 121.5 today in the IIU area. Pretty embarrassing for both delta and RJ guys.

Not sure where IIU is but if it's between BOS & ATL I was listening for a bit. The RJ's (or guys claiming to be RJ) were acting like children. How nice it would have been to get flt#'s and reference. Black list for their "owed jobs."

Grow up.....And "Debby" isn't my mom or your wife, or my A-Line.
