Anyone know or remember when DTW 717 service (not just training) is supposed to actually start? I think I remember hearing departures in December but haven't seen any posts on it in awhile, and now I cant find where I saw that

Red Five,
According to Delta’s Desktop timetable application on the latest release, the first route to feature the 717 aircraft will be Atlanta-Newark, beginning on September 19th, 2013. The first flight scheduled to see 717 service is the 8:55 am departure, which will arrive into Newark at 11:07 am. 3 Atlanta-Newark flights that day are scheduled to be served with the 717, and between 1 and 3 Atlanta-Newark flights are scheduled with the 717 until October 6th, when the figure jumps to 6 or 7 out of 11 till October 19th, when every single Atlanta-Newark flight is scheduled with the 717. For the moment, Atlanta – Newark is the only route that sees service from the 717 till the end of November. |
For those nostalgic for Douglas products from Long Beach, a sad day is approaching quickly unless the C17 can get some overseas sales.

Great comic pic from DogWhisperer! Spot on for the current conversation. I WANT to print the FTB "Wife Rules" out and give them to my wife, but in actuality I'll print out YOUR picture and post that. Wife will get a laugh, and I'll still get the point across.
You're 100% right also... got back from 4 day at 1830, started cooking dinner for everyone, wife was doing dishes and laundry, and we both ended up tag-teaming the kid's homework until falling asleep exhausted. But hey, she was happy with me, and is off doing PTA or getting hair or nails this am while I slept in! |
There is a military charter in open time where you start out with a deadhead and layover. You then do a 6:30 leg followed by a 3 hour break followed by a 7:00 leg. That nearly an 18 hour duty day including 2 long flights. I didn't know that was legal?

There's another identical trip. It's double crewed. If the other trip isn't in open time then it's already been awarded or they built it from another base.
