I'm not one to usually defend hockeypilot. But... Carl et al, have you read the Urantia posts? Holy cow!! 'Nuff said.

I've read some of them and now I ignore them.

BTW, I'm a Bible thumpin' Jesus freak, if anyone was wondering; not wanting to change the subject, but it is what it is. We all have differing opinions. One of the recent captains I flew with was an atheist, but we avoided religion & politics in the discussions and got along just fine.

Actually, I enjoy talking to the extremes. Would have had a great time on your jumpseat.

Most self described Athiests have a hard time arguing with the logic espoused by Thomas Jefferson and his intellectual ally, Thomas Paine.

I'm surprised the polytheistic compromise with the Romans known as the "Trinity" ever caught on. Many Christians have spent a lot of time arguing over something Christ never espoused.

I've been waiting for someone to start the "First Miracle Church." At least we would know what we believed in (and we would probably be grouped in with Pentacostals ... "drunk? it's only 9am!" ) ... at least the Catholics got that part right ... a bottle of good wine and a Priest always makes for really good conversation.

I've read the Urantia posts and I think they are great! I mean Holy Cow! (Sorry if that offends cow worshippers.) If he believes that stuff, well wow. That is crazy. But if he's just trying to act crazy in a medical scam... that's even more fascinating. People reveal themselves as they post. Figuring out who they are is part of the fun.

Don't like it, turn the page. Think Hockey and Purple are negative, Debbie Downers - then block them. Everyone wants to amend the Constitution rather than just exercising some uncommon sense and personal liberty.

Cheap,

For some reason the late 19th and beginning of the 20th Century was chock a block full of self described prophets from Ellen White to Edgar Cayce. Wonder what ever got all of that stirred up?

CheapTrick 09-11-2013 07:19 AM

Bucking Bar, the deist beliefs of Thomas Jefferson would have most evangelicals and Catholics running for the doors. He like the Urantia folks was a religious outlier in his day.

Just saw your last post. I think it was opportunism and dissatisfaction with denominationalism. Just my quick opinion.

c

You think the concept of a "First Miracle Church" has legs, at least as a wine swilling tax dodge?

Baja.

I don't see any benefit from Davis vision. Go to the secret door in Beijing for you glasses. You'll save hundreds if not thousands depending on how many pairs you buy.

Believe it or not Davis works well with Walmart. Any Walmart actually has a nice vision center now. (Find a new location)

Good idea regardless of religious belief or political leaning.
