I've heard most of the forum zealots (on both ends) are much more normal in person, but still that is a valid point.

How would you write a resolution without fulfilling the DPA doomsday prophecy that "Censorship within ALPA can reach extreme levels during the most critical times. Beyond simply deleting posts on web boards that do not suit the agenda of the leaders in power, ALPA has shown a willingness to cut off member-to-member communications completely in an attempt to control their speech and limit the message line pilots are exposed to."

Wait. The members can propose a change and have it sent up just by a "members present" majority? Who'd a thunk it!

With regards to the DALPA web forums, they're generally beneficial. The hangar talk section doesn't provide much useful information, just a lot of griping. I was hoping for more professional discussions there.

I've thought that just removing the "hateful talk"....err, "hangar talk" and improving the utility of the useful parts of the forum with updated and less expensive software might be a solution. Anyone want to build a resolution here to present at a few upcoming LEC meetings?

I wouldn't equate Urantia with Christianity, but more like what David Koresh or James Warren Jones were selling

You think the concept of a "First Miracle Church" has legs, at least as a wine swilling tax dodge?

Absolutely, although I would need to break away from the main church to start my own church that includes beer in the dogma.

Those forums are horribly designed and straight out of 1999. Every time I go over there I leave almost immediately due to the terrible interface. I've got a couple resolutions but on different subject matter.:)

No kidding...

You wanna share your ideas or is it a surprise? There are other meetings coming up, maybe we could get traction by having them come from multiple LEC's.....

It could be called the church of friar Tuck, or maybe Trappist.

Baja.

I did the Davis Vision one year. Not worth it to me. Now I put a couple hundred dollars a year extra in the FSA and then go to Costco optical. A pair of nice glasses with a scratch resistant coating etc. (not transitions) costs $150 to $200. About half the price of Pearle Vision etc.

I hope you contacted DALPA scheduling gurus about that. I find it hard to believe they couldn't have come up with a better solution within the contract.

One of those who pushed for the production of this documentary told me at a GABF after party that his research indicated the beverage consumed at the Last Supper was in fact translatable into a term used to describe a brew popular in Egypt at the time. Have no idea if he was correct. In my view his story makes sense in the tradition of warriors facing the last day of an epic battle. Most of his stories made the cut into the film. Don't know why but they left out the religious history of beer drinking.

In any event, this is a great documentary if you have not already seen it.

Duh ... and that made it into the movie (never an original idea any more). Still like calling it the "First Miracle Church."
