Any "Latest & Greatest" about Delta?
I like more hard news and political discussion.
In the day and especially the evening MSNBC is ideologically intolerable, but in the morning -- there's something about Mika.
Seriously. This place is all about opinion. I just want to hear a logical reason as to why those of you that are so determined to see the survey results think it will be beneficial. Your answer was a personal attack, and nothing more. Since it is an opinion, I'll give you mine as to why I think it unimportant: It will serve no purpose other than to satisfy personal "logic" as to whether or not dALPA is an effective representative. I say it that way because you would have no way of knowing the "why" that things turned out the way they did. It would be like having a picture of a turnip and saying that you know exactly where the earth is in it's orbit. Wouldn't it be better to affect things that you can truly influence rather than continually worry about those that you can't? This kind of attitude keeps us stuck in the mud rather than moving forward, and I am not just picking on you Elvis. Calling others that don't buy into Caplinger's logic gets one called a "cheerleader" or "apologist". His vendetta against all those that don't agree with his desire to torpedo fNWA and now DAL by default is very successful. qoud erat demonstratum.

that would be interesting. just as an example say we had "won" in 2012 the right to sell their vacations and fly. some go balistic on here and DALPA says "fine, here you go here's the survey results and 55% of the pilot group had demanded just that and it was a legit "win."
what would you say if you were in disagreement? "Well if that's what the pilots wanted, I guess I should shut up."
Would that be the wise way to handle that? Should you lay down your convictions because you lose a vote?
I don't think it is.

Here's another way to think about it, and I don't care whether or not you do, but I wish you would at least consider this: The government is continually throwing up roadblocks to business doing business. Case in point, the AMR/LCC merger. What do they then do? Do they continually cry about how it would be so much better if they were merged (and here's the salient point) Or do they look for ways to make it better and work going forward?
We can't change what has happened. We as line dogs really don't know WHY they happened the way they happened because we weren't in the room. We either trust our reps or we don't to do their jobs.
What I hear from the pastry shop is loud and clear: They don't trust their reps. They'll deny it, but that is the base line. We have had a significant turnover yet they are still assigning blame to those folks for C12. Point of fact, that those advocating alternate representation have another agenda. TC's is to burn down the house. That or he has apparently found the Holy Grail. Carl has something else besides a better payrate than he has EVER seen and a fully funded pension. Neither one has YOUR best interest at heart. If you believe I am wrong, send in a card. But I beg you to do so thinking about what YOUR best interest is and who is in the best position to really deliver on that.

Lufthansa just announced an order launching the 777X, and the 787-900 is looking to have much better, even -remarkable- economics and performance than the -800. MGMT has said that the recent Airbus order will be the last 'old technology' order... our balance sheet looks ever better with our borrowing capabilities now able to command some good finance rates. The US economy is picking up steam and we're about to boost our hub feed with larger aircraft. What's the over under on another aircraft order?

PMFJIH, 1st, pretty coherent post with which I can track pretty clearly - 12 step program aside (this is APC where 12 step programs are not allowed).
Just a slight logic adjustment though. If your issue is with Caplinger's vendetta (which it may well be, IDK), which was sprinkled on already fertile ground (ALPA mistrust), releasing survey results either solidify the mistrust or they destroy the mistrust.
The real issue is the fertile ground. The turnip (survey) would be proof of life on earth and a reason to return to it. WALL-E reference aside.
PS, IMO you attacked Elvis first, what you got was his response.
I would absolutetly **** a ****ing gold brick if the survey results aligned with the TA.
However, the more likely scenario is that the poker hand can't be laid down because it won on a bluff and we were the ones bluffed.
Seriously, for the company, this last TA was all about nailing down loose ends. We facilitated that. The survey was just busy work to keep us thinking we were in the game. The airline pilot version of painting rocks.

Are you really this naive? Do you genuinely expect the entire survey result to EVER be completely aligned with the desires of the group? That is why this argument is so ridiculous. There is no way in hell that we could ever get 12,000 pilots to agree on any simple subject much less a complex document like the contract. Especially when there are 2 disparate groups involved as fDAL and fNWA. What I find alarming is that you seem to think Caplinger can deliver exactly what it is you advocate. If he could, I'd donate all my net worth to his campaign for POTUS, because he would be the best thing since Jesus.
Fox News is definitely easy on the eyes. The morning show however, is a bit too much soft news and recipes, etc. Same as NBC and ABC.

T;
I don't think the survey results were even REMOTELY aligned with the TA.
I always love how some DAL guys just love to say "NRT is dead". No clue of the actual economics, treaties, pacts, efficiencies, history, loyalty. Just, it was NWA's, so let's hope it goes away. Stupid. Do you have any clue how many pilot jobs would be lost if the operation went away. Be careful what you "hope" for.
