I KNEW the company was going to pay us back for letting them go on Pacific scope!

Seriously though, good change. Two separate accounts is just confusing.

How insanely obsolete will they be in two years??

Does anyone know if we'll get real-time satellite weather, lightning strikes, etc? Like the guy in 2C gets now?

Purple,

I spoke with a member of the eLink team in the ATL crew room a few months ago. They absolutely are shooting to give us that technology. Also spoke of setting up the software so that as the aircraft decelerates after landing, a certain speed(maybe 60 kts) triggers the 10-9 to pop up and replace the approach plate you were referencing.

Sweet, kinda like the (removed) digital flt bag on the LR.

Won't that be kind of a bummer for the Mad Dog guys? I mean, as the aircraft slows through 80 knots during the autopilot initiated deep stall on the ERLIN arrival, and they're trying to get the mirror to line up on the whiskey compass as they try to rejoin the arrival while inverted... and the 10-9 pops up? I guess you can't please everybody though.

New K. <--Just trying to make a correct observation. :)

My application form didn't have the right boxes checked. Guess it's politically incorrect to call attention to the obvious.

When it comes to who is and isn't on a video, one thing for sure is they don't allow DC-9 pilots to be on there

http://www.motionsoft.net/wp-content...unning-out.jpg

or MD-88 pilots,

http://www.motionsoft.net/wp-content...unning-out.jpg

yes, the 88 has A/C. But still you look like ^^^

It's enough to just let you swin... 88 pilots... into the crew room. But being on a video you're airplane can't even display?! Not a chance.

I also heard that after 30 seconds of zero ground speed it goes into screensaver mode and streams new APC posts in real time. Apparently they had it set up to do the same for the Hangar Talk section on the ALPA site but are having to rework it to accommodate the new "blog" functionality...

Hey, it gets the fewest passenger complaints of any of our mainline jets. :D

I think the 88 can hit 80 knots. I forgot one time when we were practicing stalls how slow it can get but it was pretty amazing given the wing.
