Again, that's your opinion. I know a few weird ones who have gotten in, and a TON of great ones who didn't (former Mesaba). Unless you know everyone, you can't speak knowledgeably about all of them.

I don't know the Mesaba guys... heck most of them would barely even make eye contact with Pinnacle guys. I do know it is working with the senior Pinnacle guys.

The pass rate will go up significantly with the group coming up.

Yeah, the old days of bad blood are unfortunate, but becoming history. I do believe the unfriendliness was partially due to management creating an intentional rift. Now that the integration has happened people are realizing there were mostly great people on both sides. And EVERYONE has their share of freaks.

"Destination map for ATL CR7/9 pilots"
Food for thought when contemplating Section 1 of C2015....

Here's the 73N route map.

This is how it always looks. I think the 737 has a restriction which prohibits daylight operations. Some very old & wise pilots claim it flies during the day, but I don't know anyone who has seen it happen, first hand.

Those pictures on the internet that show daylight ops are photoshops and Boeing test pilots.

Delta must have substantially changed the interview process, as they weren't very successful at weeding out some of the ExpressJet and PCL crazies from the 2006-2008 timeframe. They seemed to do a good job with the ASA and CMR guys though (about half the new hires during that time).
:D

They tried to keep me out, but 80 let me in.

You ever seen the MD-90 NAV database? Here are all the airports in it...

The 717, I can see the most obscure GA airports around where the plane could never have a chance to land. The 90, I don't even see my destination.

The stock keeps trying to break through $35 and keeps getting whacked when it does.

You guys need to stop selling when it touches that number.

And Compass was a Northwest abomination that Delta inherited.

Compass is/was merely ALPA pilots flying DC-9 replacement aircraft with Delta painted on the side. "Abomination" is an emotional description; if you're referring to the way Compass/NewCo was created, do you conclude that Delta splitting off that aircraft fleet was the best solution?

Perhaps DL is trying to prevent a repeat of the Northeast merger. They've all retired now, but for many of us here, we flew right seat for some of the worst ever "professional" pilots. You'd think after 25 years and 20K or so hours most would have figured it out, but they were about 50/50.

There's always gonna be a few percent you hire that are mistakes, but you have to accept that and move on. When you take on all comers someone else picked, your fear is you just hooked up with another Northeast.

It's unfortunately true. Delta hiring is finding out what make up the seniors there which is likely similar to other regionals. They are mostly stuck there for a reason with of course a few exceptions. The liability involved would be interesting to see given how bad so many have blown the screening yet go back to fly delta pax.

I don't think there's any liability. Even a rookie HR dept at an upstart knows how to layer their interview process with more than enough plausable deniability for a million reasons. And DL's HR dept is no rookie. Unless they start stamping "UNSAFE TO FLY DELTA PASSENGERS" in red block letters on their application and then save it for audit, they have nothing to worry about.

Who, pilot John Doe? Well our records, backed up by Federal qualification standards, show he was fully qualified. He just didn't meet all of our personality requirements at the time. Perhaps he didn't know enough DL logo history, or his shoes weren't shined enough. We were still going to hire him, but he wore a blue tie to the interview, so...
