Got no idea if it passes smog tests. The intake is the give away ... now tell me, what is it? The 996 Dilemma: LS1 Swapped 1999 Porsche 911 |

That's awesome! But it has no A/C, power steering and can't be smogged. California car with Michigan tags to bypass the smog. Wonder if you could get a green sticker for it? |

I'm thinking a tail-heavy car like the 911 doesn't need power steering. No A/C would be a tough one on a hardtop, though. |

I guess that's how you need to play the game in California. No smog checks here in Ohio.

Couldn't believe how cheap the 996 was/is. This is a cool solution but I like the mod from flat six innovations. Heck, maybe just skip the mod and buy the turbo! I ended up with a '96 993 with only 64,000 miles. Even has good a/c. Now my wife wants a corvette. Maybe we can have both with this car!! |

[/CENTER] Me thinks the wife is on to something ... something good. Flat 6 Innovations appears to be a good shop, but, should you really have to spend another $10,000 to $25,000 to fix haphazard sloppy engineering from Porsche on their 100K plus product? The idea that Porsche did shoddy repairs, then installed engines in Boxsters, as factory new or overhauled should raise some eyebrows. Flat Six Innovations states the case clearly: The factory KNEW these engines had issues, this isn't the same company that created the 356 and 911. |

http://www.corvetteconti.com/blog/wp...res-conti5.jpg http://www.stingrayforums.com/forum/...ingray2014.jpg I decided to postpone the 911 search until I sell off a few more hotrods. My wife is onboard will the Porshe though. Even still, clip off a corner of your man card for not sizing that pic.:D |
