I see no pilot. I see no other passengers.

Typical FBO ramper having fun with his girlfriend in your company's airplane.

If after your 4 day trip ends, you check your schedule as required and there is no trip or SC, you immediately go on Long call. So you could then be leaving the airport, they could call with a trip 12 or more hours out, or a SC assignment that starts within 10 hours (plus 2 hour show, 12 hours)

There is no obligation to answer the phone during your 12 hour long call, but you have to acknowledge any trip/SC assignment prior to 3 hours to show. If they put you on a 24 hour break (1 in 7) you have an obligation to check your schedule 9 hours prior to that 1/7 ending. They do have to assign the additional rest after a trip (to make it a 1/7) prior to starting the 1/7 rest.

What I see scheduling doing is, while you're on the last day of that 4 day, they'll add additional rest at the end of your trip to make it a 1/7 if they think they'll need you. So when you do your post flight schedule check, you'll see it (and have to acknowledge it) then.

All this is going to change Jan 2014 when we go to the 117 rules, I'm just not exactly sure yet.
Good info. Thanks.

Good idea for him to contact ALPA, but the ALPA scheduling forum doesn't exist anymore, it has been transitioned to the new Blog format.

ALPA's stupid new "blog" format seem specifically designed to avoid discussion and free flowing talk. Before, you could easily scan the list of topics and see what interested you, and easily respond. Now, it's a more complicated and difficult format to use.

Any news on recall no-shows to indoc yet? I remember some folks predicting some accepting and then backing out at the last minute.
