Carl lacks credibility on the willingness of Delta pilots to go on strike:

NATIONAL MEDIATION BOARD Re: Delta Airlines and the Air Line Pilots Association

Delta Pilots Warn of Possible Strike

Just because the Delta pilot group hasn't gone on strike doesn't mean that the Delta pilot group isn't willing to go on strike when legal and appropriate.

Shrinks

Did both shrinks that hired commit suicide or just the dad?

I've never claimed credibility on the subject, that's why I'm asking questions about it instead of making proclamations. If you had actually read my posts instead of knee-jerk reacting, you'd know that.

I really hope that's right. But with the statements from tsquare, finis, Bucking Bar and fDAL guys I've spoken to who do not believe in striking Delta under any circumstances, I'm unconvinced.

My hope is that the number is small despite screening efforts to the contrary. I think the number is small. But in a strike, you need near unanimity in support.

Carl - what is the total amount of time you have spent on strike in your career? When you were on strike, what was your position at the time?

About 3 weeks total, as a Captain. Why do you ask?

Bar, we're being played for complete fools. There is no way around it. Record profits, and we get 4833 with productivity and profit sharing giveaways. Totally unsat. We were manipulated into the deal when 50-seaters were going and 717s were coming, regardless of the vote. And it was "our" own "union" who led the sales job. Embarrassing.

If RA's motives are so pure, why does he need the union-buster on staff? Why did he instruct an up-til-then trustworthy guy (SD) to roll over and lie to us about the hiring timeframe during the C12 sales job?

We ought to be looking a few moves ahead (chess instead of checkers).

What will ALPA do when Sleepy Ed (or some other high-functioning sociopath) takes the reins? Will ALPA be able to adapt? Everything I've seen screams "hell no." If we're getting played by the "good cop," how are we in a position to accomplish anything whatsoever against the "bad cop?"

What the heck happened on here today? I went to bed after Carl (incorrectly) asserted that the shrink asks us about unions and striking... and kaboom, that all went downhill quick.

Whole lot fewer cheerleaders than there should have been is the apparent result...
